Dear Parishioners,

This coming Wednesday, June 15th our Parish Pastoral Council will meet. Five members of the council, Mary Grace Poidomani, Rick and Dori Ijams, Dotty Smercina and Don Rynbrandt will conclude their terms at the close of this meeting. I would like to thank them for their service and their dedication to the work of the Parish Pastoral Council.

A couple weeks ago, Alice Hinkle, the retired pastoral minister from St. Noel Parish, led members of the council through an evening of discernment. After prayerful reflection and discernment Robyn Manchick and Janet Cardamone have been welcomed to the Parish Pastoral Council for a term of two years. Marty Motsco and Dottie Eidam have agreed to serve for a second term. We welcome our new members. The council will meet again on Saturday, August 20th, when Alice Hinkle will lead the entire PPC in a morning of reflection.

On other fronts, if you know anyone who might be interested in the RCIA or learning more about the Catholic Faith, please encourage them to contact either Terry Battaglia or myself. Your personal invitation can be so very helpful and go a long way in making someone feel welcome.

Have a great week!!!! Fr. Tom Dragga

Tables Available We are replacing 10 of the tables in the Upper Room. If you are interested in having one for a keepsake please let us know. First come first serve. Contact the parish office if you are interested.

(3) Celebrating the Eucharist is central to our community, with full and active participation on the part of each member. We cherish our sacramental life as well as a variety of prayer forms.

First Communion We welcome to the Eucharistic Table the following children who made their First Holy Communion last weekend: Kassidy Rose Toohig and Jessie James Toohig, children of Kevin and Kate Toohig, Emery Road, Orange Village; Nathan Michael Lombard son of Mark and Ann Lombard, Pinehurst Drive, Aurora; Biagio Thomas Montagna, son of James and Annie Montagna, Summerhill Dr., Aurora, and Aleah Grace Rothstein, daughter of David and Nicole Rothstein, Lisa Lane, Solon.

Prayer for Fathers For those who have fathered us into birth, for those we call “father” who have shown us the face of our Father in heaven, for expectant fathers and those whose arms ache to cradle their own, for fathers who have borne the pain of losing a child, for fathers who have laid down their life for their children: May the one who is Father and Lord of all be their guide and their peace. For all fathers, living or dead, those nearby or those distanced by miles, disease, or division: May they all be embraced and strengthened by the loving arms of God, the Father of us all. Amen. -- Diana Macalintal

Catholic Family FESTival Looking for a great family day this summer? Join us for The FEST on Sunday, August 7 on the seminary grounds in Wickliffe. The 56 acre campus becomes the home of our 16th Annual Catholic Family FESTival. It’s a day that celebrates faith and family. It’s fun and it’s FREE. Join thousands from across the region for national Christian bands (Newsboys, Michael W. Smith, Matthew West, and Lauren Daigle) and great faith-based activities and displays for the whole family. The day ends with an outdoor Mass at 8 pm followed by an incredible American Fireworks display. Check it out online – www.theFEST.us. The FEST has EVERYTHING you need for a great family day and everyone is welcome! Tell your friends!

Children’s Liturgy of the Word provides an opportunity during mass for young children ages 4 to 9 to hear and reflect on the Sunday readings. With the close of the school year our Children’s Liturgy of the Word also takes a summer break. We want to thank all those who served as catechists and helpers and a special thanks to all the parents and family members who encouraged children to participate. We will start up again after Labor Day. In the meantime, consider whether this might be a volunteer opportunity for you! If you’re comfortable in a group of young children, reading and facilitating discussion of the Sunday readings, consider serving once a month as a catechist or a helper. Training is provided. For more information please contact Lisa or Terry.
