Fact Sheet WWR Overview

The mission of the Wounded Warrior Regiment (WWR) is to provide leadership and
facilitate the integration of non-medical and medical care to combat and non-combat
wounded, ill, and injured (WII) Marines, sailors attached to Marine units, and their
family members in order to maximize their recovery as they return to duty or transition
to civilian life.
Members of the WWR will assist recovering Marines through the
recovery, rehabilitation, and reintegration phases, offering guidance and

return to their operational forces as quickly as their medical conditions will
allow.

treatment or rehabilitation
Has three or more appointments of complex nature each week
Has transportation requirements to appointments that the parent
command cannot support
Is unable to serve a function in the parent command due to their
