NEW ORLEANS MISSION TRIP

July 7-14

Next meeting Sunday, April 29

Immediately following morning service Fellowship Hall

Spring is in the air: The weather has begun to warm a bit. The initial blooms are beginning to poke their faces out from the prison of the buds. Green is returning to the foliage and to the turf. Brighter colors adorn those traveling the park trails or walking along the beach.

It would be hard to miss the message of the season. It cries out and says, “Hope is restored and life is renewed.” How appropriate is it that God chose to present the grandest expression of hope and life that could ever be imagined during this season of new beginnings!

Resurrection Sunday: Karl Barth wrote, “The Easter message tells us that our enemies, sin, the curse and death, are beaten. Ultimately they can no longer start mischief. They still behave as though the game were not decided, the battle not fought; we must still reckon with them, but fundamentally we must cease to fear them any more.”

For we who were lost; without the prospect of rescue; held under cruel verdict of sins’ cold grip; the empty tomb is the cause of our rejoicing and deliverance. Because He lives; we who believe shall live also. Jesus is alive. Jesus is savior. Jesus is Lord. Come celebrate the risen savior on RESURRECTION SUNDAY.

Adult C Dedication: The old Worship Center has been transformed into a relevant, practical, and beautiful facility for adult Bible Study ministry, which will be our Adult C facility. We already had an Adult A facility down the hallway between the office and the Preschool and an Adult B facility directly upstairs from Adult A. We will have a RENOVATION DEDICATION on Sunday morning APRIL 29. To the glory of God!!!

Many other great things are in store for the First Baptist family over the next few weeks. On April 8 we will share in the Lord’s Supper. On April 15, Paul McClung will be here to share in our morning service. We will honor our Preschool/Children ministries on April 22 and our Senior Adults on May 6. May 13 is Mother’s Day and will have a parent/child dedication.

On May 20 the youth will have charge of the morning worship and we will honor our graduating seniors. That evening we will have our Mother’s Day Out graduation service. I look forward to all that God is going to do.

Our Family Page is a one page flyer that outlines all the happenings in our departments.
