MOOSE LEGION COMMITTEE By Michael Cole, Moose Legion Chairman Hello to all our fellow Moose men and women. The summer is gone and fall approaches. If you are a Veteran, please print your name and branch of service for our Veteran’s plaque and give it to any board member, Moose Legion member or bartender. We want to thank all who came to our breakfast in August! Due to the great response, we will continue our breakfast on the open Sundays. Hope to see you all. Still working on a poker run for early November with details to follow soon. We will have Moose Pasta with the double-garlic butter-cheese-heart-attack-bread on the 8th and 22nd. One of the new Moose Legion members diving right in to service is Tom Barrett with a Pork chop dinner on the 16th. Shane McIntosh is also going to whip us up a soup and sandwich October meal on the 17th. Support us so we can support the needs of our Moose Fraternity with things like Christmas dinner and presents for needy families in our community. We also want to repair and purchase items for our Lodge—hint, getting the A/C system cleaned and working better. Your Moose Legion—always ready to serve our Lodge. Take the next step and join now. Call me at 559-307-2482

CONGRATS, NEW FELLOWS! By Blackie Veach, Past Governor & Pilgrim One of the highlights of my time at the CNMA Annual Convention in Reno is always helping to sign in the new Fellows on Saturday morning. This year was really special because Fresno has two new Fellows—Rudy Vizcarra and Mac McWhorter. As a Pilgrim serving on the Fellowship Conferral Team, it was a pleasure to see these deserving Loyal Order members re-ceive their degree. I hope you join with me to congratulate both of these hardworking members of our Moose Home.

GOVERNOR’S MESSAGE Good day to all my Fraternal Brothers and Sisters. We had a great summer, with great meals and awsum events like the Golf Tournament, Poker Run, Tri-Tip/Rib/Salad Cook off, back-to-school back packs and supplies and a Car Show and still more fun to come with Halloween and an-other Poker Run in the air. Thanksgiving and Christmas are right around the corner. I just can’t thank all the people involved enough for your help. It takes a lot of time to pull these events off, so give yourself a great big hand—THANK YOU ALL. We gathered well over $500 in school supplies. The schools and children were very happy with our community support, so once again, THANK YOU ALL and give your-self a great big pat on the back. Really, hats off to everyone this year for making my time as Governor a well-rewarding summer. I could never even come close to these accom-plishments by myself, nor would I have been crazy enough to try without all of you. And it’s not over yet, we still have great things ahead of us. We will be looking for a great Halloween party for the whole family—kids and adults, so join in and help where you can. Oh, and dress like a scarecrow if you dare! We will be back from the Reno Convention and it will be time to put what we learned into practice. We will build our Lodge and Fraternal organization strong and true. What about those great breakfasts with Sue and Crew and the Moose Legion—why cook again? And the dinners just keep getting better with Rudy’s tacos, Bill and Theron’s steaks, Karen’s chapter chicken, Tom’s kabobs and chops, Moose pasta, soup and sandwich and so many more meals. Just keep coming down and don’t worry, your kitchen won’t miss you. This is truly what we are—a Lodge of volunteers with the goal to take care of Mooseheart, Moosehaven and our community. Great job and see you around this fall. Fraternally, Michael Cole

Box Tops and Soup Labels—we clip these items for Chairman Polly Jeffries, who sends them in to earn monies for Mooseheart. Polly is also the chairman of the pull tabs we gather for Ronald McDonald House.
Donor’s Circle—Chairman Paulena Flower brings a donation jar to meetings to help coworkers donate.
The Chapter has adopted the 1106th TASMG Unit of Army National Guard Families as one of our projects. Several co-workers have had a lot of fun helping families.
Scan grocery and fast food receipts with an ap on your smart phone to help Mooseheart through Shoparoo.
The Loyal Order held a Poker Run and all proceeds went to support Mooseheart, our Child City.
The Chapter gives Tommy Moose to a service organization every year. Karen Bien handles it, as well as Bottles for Babies, to help unwed mothers keep their
babies.

SENIOR REGENT MESSAGE October is here! We are heading into the holiday months.
We enjoyed the Rib/Tri-Tip/Salad Cook off, including the KIDZ TYME shirt dying and the Car Show. Thank you to all who participated to make these events a success for our Lodge and Moose Home. Thank you to the co-workers who attended the convention and represented our Chapter while gaining knowledge.
We also appreciate our Chairmen who have committee activities and provide refreshments during their month. Big thanks to all who help and volunteer their time and talents. Be sure to try our Bingo/Bunco at the end of the month, with lunch provided and fees going to various community service organizations. Thank you to all who attend.
Our Membership Retention Committee, chaired by Jeanetta Lazar, is holding a New Member Orientation on Sat-urday, October 10th at 10:00 am in the Moose Home. Re-freshments will be provided. Please try to attend if you are a new member. Get great information about our organization.
Our KIDZ TYME Committee has a family Halloween party planned on October 31st from 5 to 9 pm. It should be a fun time for all. Dress as a scarecrow and just party or help out. October’s meetings are sponsored by our Mooseheart/Moosehaven Committee Chairman Carol Rice. Look for our Christmas in October event and bring in those donations! Please carry an application with you and sponsor new members. No one can join until you ask them. Help them find out how much fun we have and how many friends we all make. AND you have a chance to win See’s Chocolates!
I hope to see you at our dinners and events. Thank you!
