A Visual Way To Contain ClutterA popular method to keep yourself from accumulating too many items is the "container concept,” developed by decluttering expert Dana K. White. The philosophy is simple: Designate a "container” for various categories of items in your home. That could be an entire bookshelf unit for books, movies or games. Or maybe it's one cabinet in your kitchen for pots and pans, or one drawer in your bedroom for jeans. Once the container is full, don't start a second container for that category. Instead, get rid of something in the current container to make room for a new purchase or gift. When organizing each container, store your favorite items first. If you run out of room, the items you have left should be ones that are easier to let go of.
Take Care of Your Smile To Help Your HeartDoctors believe a simple everyday habit can lower a person's risk of heart disease. And it's something we should all be doing anyway: brushing our teeth! Multiple studies show that people with good dental hygiene have lower rates for heart attack or stroke. One reason for this may be that the same bacteria that cause gum disease could travel to the circulatory system and cause problems there. Brushing for two minutes twice a day removes the bacteria. Researchers also think there is a link between inflammation in the mouth, which can be caused by poor oral health, and disease in other parts of the body. Since brushing and flossing is easy, quick and inexpensive, it's something we can all do to benefit our overall health.
An Extra $1000 Per YearSpending money on little things regularly can really add up over time. Do you have a habit of spending $4 per day on coffee or $15 for lunch? Try fixing these items at home so that you can minimize your expenditures. Over time, you'll be surprised at the total savings.
