Amendment No.3 May 2007.to IS 15100:2001 Multi Function Valve Assembly for/'

Permanently Fixed J,iquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) Containers for Automotive Use-has been published (copy.enclosed). As per this Amendment, Bon Fire Test has beenadded in clause 8.3 of IS 15100- A multifunction valve shall be subjected to Bon-firetest as per procedure given in Cl. 10.6.1 oflS14899.The draft revised"STI was circulated vide GMD Note of even number ,dated 27 June, ~

2007 for seeking comments of ROs/BOs. However, no comments were received.Accordingly, STI has been revised as Doc:STI/15100/4 November, 2007 ( copy of STIavailable on BI~ Intranet).

It ha~ been decided to implement above Amendment with efIeet from Ist.

November, 2007. ROsl BOs are requested to inform the licensees under their jurisdictionabout implementation of above amendment along with revised STI with effect from 1st

November ,2007.

Bon fire test had been conducted while considering grant of lic.encefor IS 15100:2001 byCCOE before giving no objection Certificate. Endorsement of Implementation ofAmendment No 3 and revised STI to be~"'madein the llcence after confirmation from'

LIQUEFIED PETROLEUM GAS (LPG) CONTAINERSFOR AUTOMOTIVE USE

(Page 1. clause 3.1.3.1.jl/'st sentence) - Substitute the following for theexisting:

.A valve normally in the open position which closes automatically whendifferential pressure across the valve is not more than 0.1 MPa.'

(Page 1, clause 3.1.3.3) - Substitute the following for the existing clause:

'When the excess flow check valve is in cut-off position, the liquid flow throughthe equalizing device shall not exceed 500 cm3/min at a differential pressure of0.7 MPa for valves suitable for liquid withdrawal.'

[Page 6, clause 5.5.2 (see also Amendment No.1)] - Substitute thefollowing for the existing:

'The multifunction valve inlet shall have parallel male (external) threads of sizeM 12x 1.5 or equivalent approved by statutory authority.'

(Page 6, clause 8.2) - Insert the following new clause after 8.2:

'8.3 Bon-Fire Test - A multifunction valve shall be subjected !Obon-fire testas per procedure given in 10.6.1 of IS 14899.'
