Welcome to our Amazing Parish! We are an amazing parish because we create and nurture joyful disciples of Christ. A Catholic becomes an Intentional Disciple after recognizing they have been personally chosen by the Lord to enter an intimate relationship with Him. This relationship relies on the Holy Spirit and embraces a lifelong sacramental journey of prayer, service, evangelization and communally receiving Jesus Christ through Scripture and Eucharist. Thus, Intentional Disciples imitate Christ in everything they do on a daily basis. 1708 Horseshoe Drive • Pueblo, Colorado • (719) 542-9248 http://www.ctkpueblo.org • facebook.com/christthekingcatholicparish First Communions held on July 5th, 2020 L - R: Jacoby Duran, Genesis Anaya, Jalen Duran Our second round of First Communions. Welcome to our Amazing Parish!

We are an amazing parish because we create and nurture joyful disciples of Christ. This relationship relies on the Holy Spirit and embraces a lifelong sacramental journey of prayer, service, evangelization and communally receiving Jesus Christ through Scripture and Eucharist. End-of-Fiscal Year 2019-2020 Financial Summary

This summary covers the timeframe July 1, 2019 thru June 30, 2020.

I may be accused of being a master politician putting a positive spin on a negative report, but I think I am justi-fied. I’m going to say our reported $24,398 drain on our income is nothing to be ashamed of. I’ll go one fur-ther and say even if it had been $54,000 in the negative that would be nothing to be ashamed of.

I can say this because when we drafted this budget last April, the demise of our chiller system for the front of the church and the hall was not on anyone’s horizon – that occurred two months later. The replacement cost for the new unit was roughly $54,000 and the budget we projected didn’t forecast this expense, so we really have done pretty well. Even a $54,000 negative report would’ve meant we actually broke even, but for the chiller replacement.

The COVID-19 virus took a big chunk out of our in-come the past 4 months, but we did extremely well on keeping expenses down this year and that saved the day. Without the unforeseen chiller replacement, we would have been in the black around $30K.

Now we begin again. The persistent COVID-19 virus continues as the biggest threat to our finances this up-coming year. Please continue supporting your parish family even if you are a high-risk candidate who can-not attend our restarted in-church services, or if you’re just not comfortable returning until a vaccine is availa-ble. We need your support even when you’re only “virtually” here – now more than ever!

Our staff prays for you every day. Please pray that we have a successful fiscal year ahead, and for a COVID vaccine to become available. We look forward to bringing the Good News of Jesus Christ's Resurrection to people in-person again!

– Fr. John O.

Holy Spirit, spirit of truth, you are the reward of the saints, the comforter of souls, light in the darkness, riches to the poor . . . food for the hun-gry, comfort to those who are wandering; to sum up you are the one in whom all treasures are con-tained. —Mary Magdalene de’ Pazzi
