It is for this reason many ignore and want to disengage in the polical process. As easy as it would be to remove yourself from this process, as Chrisans, we must not do that. As Chrisans we are called on by God to wear our faith every day. We are to be Chrisans not just when we gather to worship, but when we go to work, when we go to school, when we in are our neighborhoods, at ballfields and at the grocery store. Even on Elec- on Day we are called to be Chrisans when we head to the ballot box. In Mahew 22:21 Jesus said to “render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s and to God the things that are God’s.” On Elecon Day, we have the unique opportunity to do both at the same me! We get to fulfill our civic duty by parcipang in the elecon process of the greatest naon on earth and we get to let our light shine by vong our Chrisan values. Our society seems to try relentlessly to divide us by our race, sex, occupaon, economic status and every other way possible. As Chrisans, we must remember the words of Paul in Galaans 3:28, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male or female. For you are all one in Christ.” Just as Paul urged the Chrisans in the first century not to let the world divide them, we must, likewise, not let the policians, the media, or the popular social figures of the day divide us from what should truly be most important to us; our love for Christ and our desire to promote him and his kingdom. It is for that reason we must always be willing to en- dure the painful, somemes brutal, polical seasons and vote our faith, our values and our desire for a society where the Word of God will connue to be allowed to be spread. □ Today’s Sermons, November 4th AM - The World Is Not Enough, Stan Butt (Matt. 16.24-27) PM - Pedro Morales (Matt. 28.16-20)

“I AM COME THAT THEY MIGHT HAVE LIFE AND HAVE IT ABUNDANTLY” Election Day, Ken Weinhardt

U nless you have been hibernating for the last 6 months, you are probably well aware that this

Tuesday is Election Day. Most of us will be very thankful when that day has passed because of

the non-stop barrage of political ads. Most of these ads that flood your TV, radio, phone or comput-

er spend most of their allotted time attacking an opposing political candidate or cause rather than

promoting or celebrating their own candidate or cause. It is for this reason many ignore and want

to disengage in the political process. As easy as it would be to remove yourself from this process, as

Christians, we must not do that. As Christians we are called on by God to wear our faith every day.

We are to be Christians not just when we gather to worship, but when we go to work, when we go

to school, when we in are our neighborhoods, at ballfields and at the grocery store. Even on Elec-

tion Day we are called to be Christians when we head to the ballot box. In Matthew 22:21 Jesus said

to “render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s and to God the things that are God’s.”

On Election Day, we have the unique opportunity to do both at the same time! We get to fulfill our

civic duty by participating in the election process of the greatest nation on earth and we get to let

our light shine by voting our Christian values. Our society seems to try relentlessly to divide us by

our race, sex, occupation, economic status and every other way possible. As Christians, we must

remember the words of Paul in Galatians 3:28, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male

or female. For you are all one in Christ.” Just as Paul urged the Christians in the first century not to

let the world divide them, we must, likewise, not let the politicians, the media, or the popular social

figures of the day divide us from what should truly be most important to us; our love for Christ and

our desire to promote him and his kingdom. It is for that reason we must always be willing to en-

dure the painful, sometimes brutal, political seasons and vote our faith, our values and our desire

for a society where the Word of God will continue to be allowed to be spread. □
