PARKLIFENoFit State hurls the tent off its circus to unleash a 7-day fiesta of invention, spectacle and creative collision. Parklife reinvents what is possible in public space and creates an exuberant new form of outdoor circus theatre.

Parklife brings an impressive aerial playground to your park and embarks on a creative journey before the eyes of the public.

100 deck chairs invite passers by and local residents to join this joyful open air circus residency, drawing in the energy, passion and talents of your town through taster workshops, open house rehearsals, impromptu performances and early morning happenings.

The park is activated like never before as your cheerleaders, kickboxers, freerunners, and bellydancers work together with our international company of world class circus artists to craft a thrilling large-scale outdoor show, that is uniquely for and by your community.

Parklife pushes the boundaries of what can happen in public space to deliver a powerful, inspiring and spectacular celebration of the passion people share for what they do.

Sept journées d’inventions, de spectacles et de collision artistique avec le public pour réinventer ce qui est possible dans l’espace public et créer une nouvelle forme éxhuberante de cirque-théâtre extérieur.

Parklife installe son imposant terrain de cirque aérien dans vos parcs et s’embarquepourunvoyageartistiquesouslesyeuxdupublic.

Une centaine de chaises-longues invitent passants et habitants à rejoindre cettejoyeuserésidencedecirqueenpleinair,entrainantavecellel’énergieetletalentdesvillesd’accueil.Auprogramme,ateliersd’initiation,répétitionsportes ouvertes, performances impromptues et happenings matinaux.

Le parc est mis en branle tandis que pompomgirls, kickboxeurs, freerunners et danseurs locaux collaborent avec nos artistes de cirque venus des quatres coinsduglobe.Ensembleilsécriventunegrandeformepourl’espacepublic,crééespécifiquementpouretavecleshabitants.

Parklife repousse les frontières de ce qui peut arriver en rue pour proposer unecélébrationspectaculaired’unepassioncommunepourunepratiquesportive ou artistique.

NoFit StateNoFitStatewasfoundedin1986byfivefriends.Duringapoliticallychargedtime, in a recession, and as a creative reaction to the world around them, the circus was born.

Twenty-fiveyearslaterNoFitStatestillbelievesthatthetotaloutweighsthesum of the parts. The company lives together, works together, eats together, laughs and cries together – travelling in trucks, trailers and caravans and loving and breathing as one community. This is what creates the spirit that is NoFit State and gives the work its heart and soul.

Contemporarycircuscombineslivemusic,dance,stagedesign,text,andfilmwith traditional circus skills. It is rooted in the travelling community who turn up,pitchatent,drumupanaudience,andthenleavewithonlyflattenedgrassand a memory to show they were ever there. The circus are the strangers who live amongst us – and if we run away to join them we are throwing off our inhibitions, our conventions, the rules of settled society. We are taking to the road knowing that there is no destination - only a journey.

Today,NoFitStateistheUK’sleadinglarge-scalecontemporarycircuscompany, producing professional touring productions and a wide variety of community, training, and education projects for people of all ages.

Their professional tented touring shows have visited 15 different countries, played to audiences of over 250,000 and have won numerous prestigious internationalartsawardsincluding,for‘Immortal’,BestShowofTarregaFestival2006and,for‘Tabù’,TotalTheatreAwardatEdinburghInternationalFestival 2010.

Vingt-cinqansplustard,l’espritdepartageetl’enviedecréerensemblecontinue de faire vibrer la compagnie, qui voyage en camion et caravnes, partageant chaque instant de la vie de tournée.C’estcetespritdecommunautéquel’onretrouvedanslescréationsdeNoFitStateetquileurdonnent leur force.

Leur cirque contemporain est un mélange de musique live, danse, scénographie, texte, vidéo, et disciplines traditionnelles des arts du cirque. Par essence-même voyageurs itinérants, arrivant sur un lieux, montant un chapiteau,faisanttournerlestêtesd’unpublictoujoursdifférentetlaissantderrière eux pour seules traces des pelouses aplaties, comme mémoire de leur passage. Le cirque est ces étrangers qui vivent parmis nous. Aujourd’hui,NoFitStateestdevenuelapluslargecompagniedecirquecontemporain en Grande-Bretagne, jouant ses spectacles aux quatre coins du mondemaiss’impliquantégalementdansuntravaildeterritoireenproposantprojets et formations pour tous les âges et tous les niveaux.

Barricade is a show created for the European Zone of Artistic Projects (ZEPA), a European network promoting the development of street-arts, supported by the European programme for cross-border cooperation INTERREG IV A France (Channel) England. The nine ZEPA partners, Barricade co-commissioners, are Pôle National Cirque et Arts de la Rue (Amiens), Atelier 231 (Sotteville-lès-Rouen), Culture Commune (Bassin Minier du Pas-de-Calais), Le Fourneau (Brest), Zap Art (Brighton), Southampton City Council, SeaChange Arts (Great Yarmouth), Hat Fair (Winchester) and Brighton Festival.
