“Overcoming barriers to witnessing” by De-
los Miles tells us it often takes longer to get a Chris-
tian ready to share a Gospel Witness than it does to
get a lost person to be saved. There can be no excuse
for one who knows they have been saved by the
blood of our Lord Jesus failing to share that salva-
tion news with others.
Determine that you are going to actively look
for opportunities to share your faith. Avoid the
thought that someone else will get the Gospel to a
lost person you know. If God has put someone in
your life that does not know Jesus, wake up to the
opportunity.
Do not hesitate to share because of your lack
of Bible knowledge. If you understand how you came
to know Jesus as your Savior, then that is the same
method you should share with others. If you are
asked a Bible question you don’t know, just admit
your lack of knowledge and continue sharing what
you do know. Explain that you will be happy to
search for their answer if it is still a concern when
you are through. Do not be concerned that the per-
son to whom you are sharing may be smarter than
you. No one is a better expert in what Jesus has done
in your life than you.
Determine that you will get started. No one
has ever learned to swim without first getting wet.
Jump into a witnessing conversation and trust the
Lord to guide you. Remember, Jesus is more con-
cerned with the lost than you are.

Last week, 31 students and 9 adults journeyed to
Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, for our NBC Youth Summer
Retreat/Camp. Special thanks go to the following
adults who helped make this trip possible by serving as
drivers, cooks, safety monitors, and most of all mentors:
Jennifer Bowens, Amber Bowers, Billy Bowers, Penny
Gargus, Jeff Hubbard, Allyson Patten, Tricia Thompson,
and Bob Yarbrough. It was a great week!
Join us this Sunday in the 6:00PM Evening Worship
Service as we share testimonies of how God worked in
our lives on the trip.
Our next big student adventure this summer comes July
16th—20th, as our youth lead the sports/games portion
of our 1st annual NORTHSIDE BAPTIST CHURCH KIDS
SPORTS & MUSIC CAMP. This promises to be a fun week
for all as we engage in Bible lessons taught by our
youth, sports and games led by our youth, and a very
fun music class led by Jake and his team. The cost is
$10/kid, but no one will be turned away due to money.
For His glory,
Bro. Eric
“Therefore, since we also have such a large cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us lay aside every weight and the sin that so easily ensnares us. Let us run with endurance the race that lies before us, keeping our eyes on Jesus, the source and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that lay before Him endured a cross and despised the shame and has sat down at the right hand of God’s throne.”
Hebrews 12:1-2
When we fix our eyes on Jesus, our lives are in His hands. We trust Him to show us what’s best for our lives.
