A LITTLE ABOUT US

Page 3: Overview for Veterans and Service Members

3

WE SAVE PETS AND SERVE PEOPLE

THROUGH THE HONORABLE ADOPTION

OF AT-RISK SHELTER ANIMALS BY

SERVICE AND VETERAN MEMBERS OF

THE UNITED STATES MILITARY.

Page 4: Overview for Veterans and Service Members

Saving lives of pet and person by helping our nation’s heroes find, support and care for their new best friends

4

Those who selflessly defend our country’s freedoms and the animals who love them.

Focus on adult and other at-risk pets, and veterans at any stage of their careers, from all U.S. armed forces. One of the only organizations in the nation dedicated to these two populations.

Connecting people and pet in mutual friendship and companionship.

Happy, loving homes for adult shelter pets and military personnel.

Pets for Patriots is a recognized 501(c)(3) organization

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT

WHAT WE VALUE

WHAT WE FIGHT FOR

Our mission is a call to duty

★ Ease stress of military transitions on service members and their families

through companion pet adoption: return from deployment, active to

inactive duty and retirement

★ Rehome hard-to-place shelter dogs and cats with military families in

cooperation with shelter/rescue partners; ensure affordable, high-

quality pet care through partnering veterinarians

★ Educate military community and public about benefits of adopting

adult and other at-risk pets

★ Educate donors, sponsors and adoptees about plight of animals

relinquished to shelters each year, enjoining them to our cause

We serve veterans, service members and their families

★ Long-term support for any eligible dog or cat from not-for-profit

shelter, rescue, humane society, SPCA and tax-exempt municipal

shelter partners

★ Financial support to help make pet ownership achievable:

★ Ongoing discount from partner veterinarians (minimum 10%)

★ $150 gift card from Pets for Patriots upon eligible adoption to help

make purchase of pet food and basics more manageable

(PETCO, PetSmart or Tractor Supply); renewable annually

★ Military personnel, veterans and their families enjoy proven physical

and emotional benefits of companion pets

★ Donate clean used blankets, sheets and towels; many shelter animals

sleep on nothing more than a cold, concrete floor or wire cage

★ When buying toys or food for your pet, buy a little extra to donate

★ Volunteer to walk dogs, maintain the shelter or answer phones - even

a couple of hours a month will help; great way to involve kids and

other family members

★ Just ask; your local shelter can tell you what they need most

11

We invite veterans in our program to give in whatever ways they can to the shelter where they found their new pet friend
