How Did My Media Products Challenge or Develop Other Media

Products• Album Cover : I think that my album cover follows some conventions

of other similar media product of it genre using colour to make parts of the cover stand out and also black and white is used on a number of punk albums but it did vary from other with containing a bible on the cover which is usually frond upon in main stream media.

• Magazine Advert : As I thought that the magazine album is a very essential part in the way that a band advertises themselves and there tour and I felt that I didn’t want to change from the modern design as it may be misperceived by readers so I wanted the generic design but to make it different to make it stand out from the other adverts. And as with the album cover I wanted to use colour again to make it look more appealing to reader. Also from some research I conducted I noticed that some adverts seem to be very boring not visually appealing and I didn’t want mine to be like this and I wanted it to be fun and entertaining

• Music Video : As the song is very unique and different to other song it didn’t want to ruin the song with a video that didn’t suit the song so I looked at the videos from a very similar band to the one the song is by as the band that the song is originally by do not have any videos. Most of there videos have a distinct focus on the song and the playing of the song and I wanted to follow this trend and this in not the usual for most music video now a day as there is a lot more focus on the artist and making them look good rather than the music.

Linking My Main Product with Advert & Album Cover

• As the band song are usually punk but song from the music video is a solo by the rhythm guitarist and backing vocalist and the song is very different to the songs usually preformed by the band and it was very hand to make any visual links to both the album and advert. Some of the clips from the video are in a sepia/old fashioned style like the music album. Also back cover is photographed on a beach as is the majority of the music video. The font used on my album cover shows the type of music that it is as a punk band as using corporate fonts to both make it recognise and also critics and mock as punk doesn’t conform with cultural idea and rebels against the government and corporate symbols.

Media Technologies

• Digital camera- I used a digital camera in all the production areas in filming for the video and taking photo’s for the album and advert .

• Fireworks- I used it with image editing for my album cover
