Students who do not follow this uniform policy will receive a uniform infraction. After 3 infractions, a 1 hour before or after school detention is required. Retake/Group Photos: If you missed individual portraits in September, or would like retakes, these will be done on Monday, November 11 along with group photos. For retakes, please bring your proof package along. Pita Pit Lunch: There is a lunch planned for Thursday, November 21 for Kindergarten 2 and grades 1 to 12. Please submit your orders by Tuesday, November 12. No late orders will be accepted. Vouchers as Gifts: At this time of year, many corporations and organizations give their valued employees, customers and suppliers Christmas and year end gifts. What more suitable gift than a gift card? Everyone enjoys receiving a gift card from their favourite restaurant or retailer, and it's a great way to raise additional funds for the school. It's a win-win for everyone! Next Monday, November 11 the next voucher form will be sent out. This would be the time to order for Christmas gifts, so start your planning now! Hockey: There are NO hockey tryouts this week. The first tryout will be on Tuesday, November 12 at 3:30 pm. Catering Volunteers: 2 more volunteers are needed for food preparation at the school on Saturday, November 16 from 9 to 10 am. Its a great resource for projects, where information is divided up by reading levels, making it very easy for students of all ages to navigate through. You can always find the login information on the back of the weekly newsletter. See the flyer that is attached to the emailed weekly newsletter for more details. welcome Mr. Gary Kok to our class. He’ll be observing this week before taking over as teacher for the next 5 weeks, especially first and third blocks of the day, as part of his teacher-training program. AEA3O This week we are going to continue exploring drama and music. BMI3C Students are designing the packaging for a new product this week. CGC1D This week will are working through primary industries. This is a reminder that students’ ISP part 3 (poster) is due Tuesday. CGW4U Friday News Reports from last week will be presented today. Tomorrow’s topic? How debt works! CHV2O We wrap up the course with an exam this Tuesday. Remember, your child is required to be there. CHW3M Students will be presenting on their hidden civilization today and tomorrow. Each presentation’s information will be reflected to some degree in next week’s test. ENG1D/1P Enjoy your November break. ENG2D/2P Enjoy your November break. FSF1D We will edit our group Scavenger Hunts this week, and write a verb quiz on Tuesday. GLS1O In Learning Strategies this week we will be tackling the Information Essay. The focus for this essay is teaching research skills. HFC3M Enjoy your November break. HHS4U Unit 2 Test is on Tuesday. MRP secondary research summary is due on November 12. HRE33 Unit 3 begins this week. Pre-Reformation Factors is the first topic to be studied. Start working on your essay soon. HRE43 Presentations on extreme worldviews will finish this week. MAP4C The statistics career project is due on Tuesday. We’ll begin our unit on graphical models by looking at linear equations. MFM2P During this short week we plan on starting chapter 5. MHF4U We hope to finish up Lesson 4.4 and 4.5 this week, and then the homework questions will be assigned over the extra-long weekend. When we get back next week, we will do a review and then a test. MPM2D This week is a short week, so we will keep working through Chapter 3, and finish it up next week when we are back. PPL3O Last week’s fitness logs are due today. Students should continue to record their fitness over the break and hand in this week’s log next week Monday. Students will receive a date today for refereeing a hockey game next week. A journal reflection will accompany this assignment. SBI3C The family pedigree project is due on Tuesday. There will also be a genetics unit test on Tuesday. SCH3U We will finish chapter 5 on the mole, which will involve a homework assignment that is due on Tuesday. SNC1D Chemical reaction lab reports are due on Tuesday. TGJ4M Students will be editing their ads this week.

Kindergarten 1 With only one day of school this week, the Kindergarten students will be busy reviewing all the letters and sounds. Today, we hope to hear a Bible story about Joseph and complete a Joseph craft. Look for the reading booklet and parent letter coming home today. The new Psalter is 88:1. We look forward to seeing you either today or tomorrow for Parent/teacher interviews! Kindergarten 2 We only have one day of school this week! We will be using this day to review all the lessons we have learned in literacy, math & bible! Keep practicing your sounds! Bible verse is letter /G/ and psalter is 88:1. Grade 1 We look forward to two busy days of school work with the children. We hope to finish our Reformation booklets and hear about the parables of the rich fool and the sower and the seed in Bible. There will be a math test on Tuesday DV. Have a wonderful week! Grade 2 We look forward to a fairly short week this week, as well as learning more about Jacob in our Bible stories and Canada and the temperatures! Please continue to work with your child on the various pieces of life in Gr. 2 – whether that be studying for tests, doing the reading program with them at home, working on the Lord’s Prayer in French or helping them to gather books for the Read-a-thon, your hard work is so appreciated! Our Psalter this week is Psalter 402:2 (again). Grade 3A This short week will see us finishing up our Reformation study of Martin Luther, our tower building in science and a math booklet. This means we have a vocabulary quiz and a math assessment on Tuesday. I am sure we are all looking forward to a short, but necessary break. I am also looking forward to seeing all of you during your interviews. Our text for this week is Matt. 5:8. Grade 3B We will be wrapping up our Reformation studies today with Grade 3A. Tomorrow we will be busy with our tower challenge in Science. We look forward to meeting with you at parent-teacher interviews! Have a wonderful November break! Grade 4 Because this week is so short, I will not be testing students on their memory work on Monday, November 11. Instead, they will be expected to study Psalter 161:3 and 8, as well as Psalm 34:7 for Monday, November 18th. In addition, homework packages will be due on Thursday, November 14th. Grade 5 We will finish our first Bible unit on Kings David and Solomon with a test tomorrow. We will be finishing our study of John Calvin as well. Due to the short week there will not be a Spelling test. Students only have to memorize Psalter 88:1 for next Monday. Grade 6 There will be no spelling or memory work this week. Students need to be ready to present their First Nation's project by Wednesday, November 13. Grade 7 We have a very short school week ahead of us. A good reason to get that Read-a-Thon started, students! 3-D cell models are due today. So far, I‘ve received some colourful, detailed projects! There won’t be a spelling and vocabulary test this week. Memory work is psalter 88:1 and Hebrews 13:8. I look forward to meeting you all at the parent-teacher interviews sometime this week. Grade 8 I am looking forward to seeing all of you at your interview to discuss how things are going in grade 8! We have a Joshua test Tuesday as we wrap up that Bible unit. The Bible story project is due Nov. 12. Short stories are due Tuesday (Nov. 5). We plan to order pizza from Dominos tomorrow for 1:00 pm, just as a treat for this short week. $2 or 3 or 4 will surely cover the cost, optional, of course. Enjoy your days off class! We
