From the Principal’s Desk Harmony Day Every Day What a wonderful return to work last Wednesday. Last week the whole school came together to celebrate Harmony Day. I was lucky enough to look upon a sea of orange coloured clothing as a sign of Harmony Day. It was such a wonderful inclusive event that reflects the values and
beliefs of our school being an engaged, respectful, community learning together for the future. I am very proud of our school, its vision and values, our staff, students and community that make it so unique. Thank you to Mrs Konarew and an amazing team who supported the organisation and running of the day. I would like to say a special mention to the students from Dunheved Chifley College for performing your Samoan dance. Thank you to the many parents/carers and staff for the amount of effort that you put in for the food tasting and open classrooms. We truly work in a wonderful community and I on behalf of the school appreciate the efforts of everyone. Peer Support I would like to congratulate our stage three students who have been learning some very valuable skills over the past two days in their peer support training. I am very much looking forward to the peer support program commencing at our school. The program is based on peer leaders working through a range of lessons that the students will deliver to their peers. More information will come home in the following weeks with the overview of lessons that the students will develop. Thank you to Mrs Flavell and Mr MacVean and all of the team behind the scenes supporting this important program at our school. Thank you to the students in stage three for your maturity, integrity and teamwork that you have brought to this program. Election Day BBQ thank you! Thank you to the volunteers who came and ran the BBQ on Saturday for the election. The P&C raised around $800 profit for the P&C, a great team effort. Thank You!

ART SUCCESS Each year, we enter student artworks into the Operation Art Competition.
Students from schools across the state submit artworks and 50 are selected to be included in a touring Art exhibition. Two of our creative students (Zaydan and Brayana) had artworks chosen. This is a tremendous achievement.
The Touring 50 artworks are currently on exhibition at the Art Gallery of NSW.
The artworks are very special and will make their way to Westmead Children’s Hospital at the end of the tour where they will cheer sick children.
Congratulations Zaydan and Brayana!
