Page 8: P1 MPS1 Generic 15 Feb 2014 Edited

At the core of Holistic Assessment are holistic development and child-centric assessment practices.

Holistic development requires assessment practices that provide valuable feedback on our children’s development, allow them to take ownership of their learning, and develop their confidence and desire to learn.

Provide parents with a fuller picture of the child’s progress and learning throughout the year.

P1 SBC focus on the words recognition, aiming to promote reading at young age. Through interesting and rhythmic children songs, stories or games, the students learn to recognize Chinese words.

The Chinese words are carefully chosen and are close to them in their daily lives, thus making it easier for them to comprehend and recognize.

The students will work in groups, role play and show their creativity in their group presentations. It is also a good platform for them to foster teamwork and respect among classmates, improve their communication and presentation skills.
