Date: July 12, 2014

Course # & Section: Comm 130 Section 3

Instructor name: Cory Kerr

Objective: Set up and align a two-sided, folded document. Create an original company logo and use it in a brochure. Welcome to Seattle

Tours

Come enjoy the sites of Seattle

EMP (Experience Music Project Museum)

Pike Place Market

The Boardwalk

Seattle is located right on the Puget Sound, with the view of the Cascade Mountains off in the distance on one side with the Olympic Mountains across the Sound. The city provides great cuisine and historic sites you can visit, like the Space Needle and Pike Place Market. Underneath the Pike Place Market; the infamous Gum Wall, now a-days practically could be called Gum Alley.

The boardwalk is full of interesting and exciting shops and restaurants. There’s the Crab Pot for those seafood lovers. Red Robin or McDonalds for people that like to stick with the familiar and All-American food. Ye Old Curiosity Shop is an exciting place to visit, there’s jewelry, games, clothing, and of course interesting curios things you would only find here! The Boardwalk has an arcade you can

play many games at and have fun. And of course the boardwalk and Pike Place Market have multiple places to enjoy chocolates,

French desserts and ice cream.

You can also enjoy the Seattle Center which is where the Space Needle is located, with its view deck at the top

and a restaurant that slowly spins so you can have delicious food as well as a full view of the city! There is also in the City Center the Key Arena you could

catch an event at or just have fun in the water fountain outside or the carousel. Or just on the other side of the City

Center is the EMP, Experience Music Project museum; showcasing the works of amazing musicians and band like

Seattle native Jimmy Hendrix.

LogosDescription: These are logos I made for a Nail Polish Company.

Programs used: Illustrator

Date: June 7, 2014

Course # & Section: Comm 130 Section 3

Instructor name: Cory Kerr

Objective: Create three completely different, original logos to fit a company or personal image that will appeal to the audience. Do not imitate existing logos or use previous designs.Use only the Illustrator tools to create and draw your logos. (No Illustrator pre-fabricated flares, symbols, etc.. No photos or live-tracing. You may use an image or drawing as a guide to trace it with the pen/pencil, but delete the image before submitting.)Gather opinions from at least ten people about which logo appeals most to them.

Process:- I took a picture of a real nail polish bottle and copied the shape.- To copy the shape I used rounded square shape tool and the circle tool. - I used a different color scheme on each one, lime, teal, and violet. - I used S and C in white to make use on the bottle. - Then I made a copy of the bottle and used the shape builder tool to make the reflection of light on two of the bottles.
