Beach Activities
Natural, undeveloped rock and cobble beaches extend along the foreshore from Acadia Beach to the historic monument.
Beach access trails are steep (except for Acadia Beach) and the slopeside trail between Trail 6 and Trail 7 can be challenging. The beach, except at Acadia Beach, is clothing optional. Toilets are at Trail 6 and Acadia Beach. Please carry litter out to trailhead garbage cans. Swim at your own risk; no lifeguards are on duty.
No Liquor, No Camping, No Fires and No Harvesting
Liquor, camping and fires are prohibited. To protect park
habitat, collecting mushrooms, fiddleheads or other vegetation is prohibited.
Enjoy the Park SafelyRegional parks are natural areas and can present hazards for the unprepared. Look, listen and be aware of your surroundings. Be prepared for changing conditions. Please obey all signs and enjoy your visit.
Emergencies
In case of emergency, phone 9-1-1 for fire, ambulance, and police services.

Help ensure the future of our region’s natural treasures. Please follow park regulations, established to protect park habitats, wildlife, and facilities. You can make a difference!
Trails and Recreation
Environmentally Sensitive Areas
Access to environmentally sensitive areas is strictly controlled and requires a special use or research permit. Ecological Reserve No. 74 is not open to the public. The reserve protects 90 hectares of second-growth forest ecosystems and is one of 152 ecological reserves established in BC. Camosun Bog is an ecologically-sensitive area that is open to the public via boardwalk. Protect this fragile ecosystem by staying on the boardwalk and keeping dogs on-leash.
Multi-Use Trails
Of the 78 kilometres of trail in the park, more than 50 are
multi-use and are shared by walkers, dog walkers, cyclists and equestrians. According to the trail user’s courtesy code, walkers yield to horses, and cyclists yield to both walkers and horses. Off-trail use is prohibited because it causes erosion and damages habitat. Stay on the trails shown on the map.
Dogs
Dogs are welcome on many trails in Pacific Spirit. Watch for Canine Code of Conduct and trail designation signs. Dog walking rules
and trail designations are in place to protect sensitive habitat and to ensure a safe, enjoyable experience for all park visitors. Please scoop your dog’s poop and dispose of it properly.
Accessibility
Accessible washrooms and picnic tables are located at the park centre at 16th Avenue and at the Clinton Meadow picnic area.
The Camosun Bog boardwalk can be accessed from 19th Avenue. See the back panel for info about the BCMOS’s Trail Rider.
No Smoking
Smoking is not permitted in regional parks, except in designated areas. Signs mark the designated areas.
BCMOS
The BC Mobility Opportunities Society provides wilderness access for people with disabilities, thanks to the Trail Rider, which makes any trail accessible. For more information, call 604-688-6464 or go to www.bcmos.org
Pacific Spirit Park Society
There are many ways to volunteer and make a positive difference in the park. Work on park trails, remove invasive species, join the board and more. For more information, go to www.pacificspiritparksociety.org
