    Thirty-Second Sunday in Ordinary Time:

Like the sensible bridesmaids in today’s parable, good stewards make sure that they, and whatever gifts are theirs to share, are ready to serve when the Master calls.

Did you know that St. Luke has a program available to simplify the process of making donations?

You can now choose to make your monthly regu-lar contributions by having an Automatic Deduc-tion from your bank account on or around the 1st or 15th of each month. If you are interested in do-nating to the church by Automatic Deduction, or would like to learn more about this option, call the Parish Office at 433-2777 ext. 146 or pick up an Automatic Deduction Form in the Church foyer or the Parish Office. This program is completely vol-untary. If you chose to enroll, you can suspend deductions at any time with a phone call or a brief note. We remain grateful for your donations in whatever

form you chose to make them.

Parent sessions for First Confession will be held in

English on November 6th and November 20th in the

    Parish Hall from 11:15 a.m. to 12:40 p.m. Parents

need only attend one session. Parent sessions for

those who prefer Spanish will be held on November

13th from 11:15 to 12:40. All sessions will be held in

the Parish Hall. If you have a child that will be mak-

ing his/her First Confession it is required that at

least one parent and/ or guardian attend one of the

sessions. We look forward to seeing you all there.

We would like to take this opportunity to invite all of our veterans in the Saint Luke Parish Communi-ty to attend our Veteran’s Day Mass on Thursday, November 10th, at 8:15 am. At this time we would like to acknowledge the services and sacrifices our veterans have made for our country.

Parents, below is a list of topics that your youth will be discussing in the following Sundays. We would ask that you discuss these topics with your teens. Questions? Contact Liz Ortiz at 433-2777 ext. 119 or attend any of the Life Nights. Parents are always welcome.

11/13: Church Festival This meeting will be a service project activity for all first-year Confirmation teens to participate. They will gather in the Parish Hall at the assigned group time (all teens know their group number). This will replace our usual evening Life Teen gathering on this date only.

11/20 Topic: Follow the Recipe This night will highlight the very visible signs that are present with all of the sacraments. The teens will see the matter and form, which are necessary for each sacrament to be valid in the eyes of the Church. Help your teen(s) prepare for this night by making a list and see if, as a family, you can list the matter and form (spoken word) necessary for each sacrament. Follow up after the Life Night by comparing the list to what is learned and see how well you do! Here are some discussion questions for this week: 1. Why do you think Jesus uses matter in the sacraments

instead of letting us just simply pray words? 2. Why do you think the form (spoken word) cannot be

changed in a sacrament? 3. What are the invisible realities that are made visible to us

    in each sacrament?

TODAY IS THE DAY FOR THE

HARD-HAT COLLECTION. We begin fundraising Today for the St. Luke 11th house which will be built in 2012. Everyone can help with his or her prayers. “Habitat puts faith and love to work, enabling people from all walks of life to par-ticipate. We may disagree on political, philosophical or theolog-ical subjects…but we can agree on building decent houses with and for God’s people in need, proceeding with the sure knowledge that God’s love extends to everyone.” (Millard Fuller, founder and former president of Habitat for Humanity). If you were unable to contribute to the St. Luke Habitat house today, you may do so later. Please pick up an envelope and card from the foyer and “purchase” one or more square feet of the house floor plan displayed in the foyer. At $20 per sq/ft you can have whatever name(s) you wish printed on the floor plan. Print Habitat for Humanity on the Memo/For line of your check. Place your check or cash in the envelope and place in a collec-tion or take it to the church office, or send by U.S. mail. Please pray for the help we will need for #11 and for all the families for whom we have helped build. Refer any questions or com-ments to Home and Sue Fetzer @ 434-5475.
