Vacuum Lift ApplicationsPressure sensitive box sealing tapes are an excellent choicefor processing situations where cartons are lifted with avacuum lift after sealed with tape where initial high holdingpower to a corrugated box surface is required.

Moisture Resistant ApplicationsBox sealing tapes are designed to resist moisture encounteredin storage and shipping through the supply chain.

StaplesPressure sensitive box sealing tapes provide added strengthto the corrugated cartons while avoiding the waste and safetyissues encountered with staples.

Hot Melt AdhesivesPressure sensitive box sealing tapes reliably seal cartonswithout the added issues of dwell time, equipment andmaintenance associated with hot melt glue, nor the safetyissue surrounding the hot melt equipment need for applying glue.

Water Activated Paper TapesBox sealing tapes require no activation and adhere instantlyat a touch. In addition, box sealing tapes are water-resistantwhile gummed tapes can be reactivated by contact withmoisture and can fall off the cartons. Reinforced gum tapesare relatively fragile while Scotch® and Tartan™ Box SealingTapes’ backings elongate to handle shocks in distributionresulting in a secure seal.

Cold TemperatureBox sealing tapes are an outstanding choice for applicationswhere tape is applied below 40˚ F. This is particularlyimportant for cold packing stations and food packaging in conditions that experience application temperatures below 40˚ F.

Pallet UnitizingTartan® Filament Tape 8934Used for securing goods on a pallet. It provides good palletstability for applications such as intra-plant movements ofgoods. Tartan® Filament Tape 8934 is a good choice forstrapping light and medium duty cases on a pallet.

Conduit Bundling/Color CodingScotch® Filament Tape 880 (colors)Commonly used to combine packs of conduit pipe and the tape color is used to identify the various sizes of pipe.The polyester yarns provide a tape with a high tensilestrength, which is necessary in this type of application.

Pipe BundlingScotch® Reinforced Strapping Tape 862Polypropylene mono-filament reinforced strapping tape isspecifically formulated to provide high adhesion to PVC,metallic, and fiberboard surfaces. The patented polypropyleneribbing makes the tape extremely nick, abrasion and moistureresistant. Its UV resistance (in black only) makes it apreferred choice for bundling and storing products, such asplastic and metal piping.

Carpet BundlingScotch® Filament Tape 892This general purpose tape reinforced with glass yarnfilaments is popular for strapping and bundling. Scotch®

Filament Tape 892 provides good initial adhesion andexcellent holding power on most surfaces.

Combining ProductsScotch® Filament Tape 893As a method to reduce shipping costs Scotch® Filament Tape893 can be used to combine alike cartons/parcels beingshipped to the same location.

Pallet UnitizationScotch® Stretchable Tapes 8884 and 8886Effective for securing goods on pallets. Provides extremelygood pallet stability for applications such as intra-plantmovements of goods. Stretchable tape won’t damagegraphics on cartons. Provides good stability and ventilationfor fresh produce palletizing and shipping. When optimallystretched to 500%, this linear low density polyethylene filmbacked tape is an excellent choice for light- to medium-dutypallet containment.

Coil TabbingScotch® Filament Tape 880NRFeatures a polyester film backing reinforced with polyesteryarn to provide excellent impact and cut resistance. Typicalapplications include the bundling of heavy or sharp objects,such as tubing, rods, and lumber, as well as tabbing the endlap of large metal coils. Its specially formulated rubber resinadhesive exhibits high initial adhesion, high shear strength,and excellent, long term adhesion on fiberboard and metal.

Container ReinforcingScotch® Filament Tape 898This high performance glass reinforced tape features an aggressive high shear rubber resin adhesive. Itsconstruction makes it especially effective for thereinforcement of heavy corrugated fiberboard boxes.Scotch® Filament Tape 898 is extremely nick, abrasion and moisture resistant to provide excellent performance in rough shipping and handling conditions.

User is responsible for determining whether the 3M product isfit for a particular purpose and suitable for user’s application. If the 3M product is defective within the warranty period, your exclusive remedy and 3M’s and seller’ssole obligation will be, at 3M’s option, to replace the product or refund the purchase price.
