Hello Class of 1955, October 2014

I hope that as you read this, you are enjoying the start of fall wherever you are and

that your summer brought you time to relax and enjoy family and friends.

Now that September is over, it’s time to get our minds around the fact that we will

be celebrating our 60th Reunion in 2015. Where has the time gone? We need to

get the Reunion ball rolling and there are some great plans in the works. Details

will follow, but for now, just save the dates and plan to come to Saratoga

May 28-31, 2015.

The College will do all the heavy-lifting when it comes to Reunion planning, so

if you would like to get involved, please let me know or be in touch with our

College contacts (my information is below and College contacts are on page 2).

Share thoughts on what would make Reunion fun and see if we can rally the

troops to make our presence known during Reunion Weekend in 2015.

There will be great activities, convenient campus housing, and a fleet of golf carts

at the ready to help us get where we need to be. Just to whet your appetites for

our Reunion, here is a preview of our preliminary plans:

Thursday: Our class and other post-50th Reunion classes will be joined by

President and Mrs. Glotzbach for dinner at 6:00 p.m.

Saturday: Parade of Classes at 10:15 a.m.

Awards and Recognition Ceremony & Class Gift Presentations at

10:30 a.m.

All Class Picnic 12:00 p.m.

So, make your plans, call a friend, and I hope to see you in Saratoga!

JOIN THE FRIENDS OF THE PRESIDENTS

Friends of the Presidents (FOP) is Skidmore’s leadership giving society. A gift of $2,500 or more qualifies you for

membership in FOP. Membership benefits include invitations to annual recognition events during the academic year, an

invitation to a special reception during our Reunion weekend, and the inclusion of your name on the FOP Wall of Honor

in Palamountain Hall. If you believe that the 60th Reunion is the time to make a significant gift, please consider joining

Dear Class of 1955,

I am happy to be writing to you at the start of our 60th Reunion year, and I am

hoping you’ll consider coming back to Saratoga to celebrate our Skidmore

years together. Reunion is planned for May 28 to May 31, 2015 and it won’t

be the same without you.

As your fund chair, I am writing to let you know about the plans we have for a

class gift in celebration of our 60th. Our goal is to raise $45,000 for the

Annual Fund, from 90 donors or 70 percent of the class. More important than

the dollars we raise is the number of classmates who give. Any gift, no matter

the size, is a vote of confidence in Skidmore and a celebration of what it meant

and continues to mean to us.

I will be in touch again in the coming weeks and months, but now is the time to

consider how you might like to participate in our Class of 1955 Reunion effort

and I hope you’ll join me in marking this very special occasion with a gift to

Skidmore.
