SOLEMNITY OF THE EPIPHANY – Today we celebrate this beautiful feast of the “Three Kings” in which Our Lord is manifested as the Savior of all mankind. All nations are called to adore the Lord. This feast reminds us of the universality of God’s love for all of us. SAVE THOSE CLOTHES AND SHOES!- With Christmas just finished, we often find ourselves with new clothes as gifts. Some-times we might just add to our already crowded closets. Other times we might just throw them out. Here’s another idea: save them and donate them to the St. Vincent de Paul Society so other people can use them! The St. Vincent de Paul truck will be here next Sunday, January 13, 2019, to collect these much needed donations for the needy throughout the Archdiocese. Save your stuff and let others use them! MANY THANKS ALL AROUND! We have much to be grateful for during the month of December just finished. Many thanks to: - All the members of our Guadalupe Society, and Altar Decorations committee for their beautiful decorations and receptions for the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe and for the Advent and Christmas displays. - The members of the Knights of Columbus and Catholic Daughters who planned and prepared the wonderful Christmas dinner and Dance on Dec. 1st. It was an event enjoyed by all who attended! - The English School of Faith and Catholic Daughters for their great generosity in the preparation of the Christmas baskets of food to our needy families. - Our School children, teachers and parents who prepared the wonderful Christmas program on Dec. 20th. Thanks especially to Mr. Thomas Chavalier, Ms. Noemi Baron and our Principal, Mr. Jae Kim. - The parishioners who donated poinsettia flowers for the decoration of the church. - All of our liturgical ministers and choirs who served so well this past month on the various Liturgical celebrations. Thanks especially to Mr. Steven Ottomanyi, Fr. Ted Ley, and Mr. Mauricio Centeno. Thanks also to all of our Spanish singers and musicians. - Our wonderful priests who daily administer to us but worked especially hard during the month of December on the various celebrations. - And all of our parishioners who supported the many events of this past month. As we finish one year and start a new one it is also a time to give thanks to the numerous individuals who give freely of their time all year long: - Our money counters who work diligently week in and week out every year. - The members of our various parish organizations who take such good care of our gardens and ensure that they look beautiful. - Our lectors, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, altar servers, ushers, and sacristans who serve so well to make our liturgical celebrations beautiful and dignified. Thanks especially to the coordinators of these groups: Luis Pajuelo, Linda Lewis, Elizabeth Silverio, Rosa Hernandez and Carlos Perez. - All the volunteers who clean up after Mass and clean the altars on a regular basis as well as those who freely launder the liturgical linens on a regular basis. - The Altar Decorations Group who beautifully decorate our sanctuary for the various seasons. Thanks especially to Arcelia Flores and the rest of the team for their untiring efforts to make our sanctuary so beautiful for the dignified worship of Almighty God throughout the year. - All our wonderful catechists who teach the Faith to our children and adults every week. - Our parish staff who work hard for minimal pay. Thank you to all! May God reward each of you! HAPPY NEW YEAR! - Finally, on behalf of all the Priests, Deacon, Sisters, and Staff, I want to wish you and your family a very Happy New Year filled with the Lord’s blessings! SOLEMNIDAD DE LA EPIFANÍA – Hoy celebramos esta hermosa fiesta de los "Tres Reyes" en el que Nuestro Señor se manifiesta como el Salvador de toda la humanidad. Todas las Naciones están llamadas a adorar al Señor. Esta fiesta nos recuerda la univer-salidad del amor de Dios para todos nosotros. ¡GÜARDE ESOS ZAPATOS Y ROPA! - Con la Navidad recién terminada, frecuentemente recibimos ropa nueva como regalo. A veces agregamos más a nuestros armarios ya abarrotados. Otras veces simplemente los tiramos. Aquí hay otra idea: ¡guárdelos y dónenlos a la Sociedad de San Vicente de Paul para que otras personas puedan usarlos! El camión de San Vicente de Paul estará aquí el próximo domingo, 13 de enero de 2019, justo después de Navidad para recolectar estas donaciones tan necesarias para los necesitados en toda la Arquidiócesis. Guarde sus cosas y deje que otros las usen! ¡MUCHAS GRACIAS A TODOS! Tenemos mucho por lo que estar agradecidos durante el mes de diciembre que acabamos de terminar. Muchas gracias a: - Todos los miembros de nuestra sociedad Guadalupana, y el comité de Decoraciones para el Altar por sus hermosas decoraciones y recepciones de la Fiesta de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe y para el Adviento y la Navidad. - Los miembros de los Caballeros de Colón, y el grupo de las Hijas Católicas que planearon y prepararon la cena Navideña y baile maravillosa el 1ro de diciembre. Fue un evento disfrutado por todos los que asistieron! - La Escuela de Inglés de la Fe y el grupo de las Hijas Católicas de nuevo por su gran generosidad en la preparación de las canas tas de Navidad de alimentos a las familias necesitadas. - Nuestros niños de la escuela, a las religiosas, maestros y padres de familia que prepararon el maravilloso programa de Navi dad el 20 de diciembre. Gracias especialmente al Sr. Thomas Chavalier, la Señorita Noemi Baron y a nuestro director de escuela, el Sr. Jae Kim. - Los feligreses que donaron las flores de pascua para la decoración de la iglesia. - Todos nuestros ministros litúrgicos y coros que han servido tan bien el mes pasado en las celebraciones litúrgicas diversas. Gracias especialmente al Sr. Steven Ottomanyi, el Padre Ted Ley, el Sr. Mauricio Centeno. Gracias también a todos nuestros cantantes y músicos de español. - Nuestros maravillosos Sacerdotes que nos administran diariamente, por su trabajó duro durante todo el mes de diciembre en las diversas celebraciones. - Y todos nuestros feligreses que apoyaron a los varios eventos de este último mes. Al terminar un año y comenzar uno nuevo también es un momento para dar gracias a las numerosas personas que dan de su tiem-po libre durante todo el año: - Nuestros contadores de dinero que trabajan diligentemente semana tras semana cada año. - Los miembros de nuestras diferentes organizaciones parroquiales que cuidan tan bien de nuestros jardines y aseguran de que luzcan bella. - Nuestros lectores, ministros eucarísticos, monaguillos, sacristanes y los ujieres, que sirven muy bien para hacer nuestras celebraciones litúrgicas hermosa y digna. Gracias especialmente a los coordinadores de estos grupos: Luis Pajuelo, Linda Lewis, Elizabeth Silverio, Rosa Hernandez y Carlos Pérez. - Todos los voluntarios que limpian después de la Misa y la limpieza de los altares en forma regular, así como aquellos que libremente lavan los paños litúrgicos sobre una base regular. - El Grupo de Altar decoraciones que adornan bellamente nuestro santuario para las distintas estaciones. Gracias especial mente a Arcelia Flores, y el resto del equipo por sus esfuerzos incansables para hacer de nuestro santuario tan hermoso para el culto digno de Dios Todopoderoso a través del año. - Todos nuestros maravillosos catequistas que enseñan la fe a nuestros niños y adultos cada semana. - Nuestro personal de la parroquia que trabajan duro por un salario mínimo. ¡Gracias a todos!
