PASTOR’S REFLECTION
Thirteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time
July 2, 2017
Dear Friends,
When the Lord demands to be first in our lives it can
cause us to feel that the Lord wants us to love our loved
one less. All to the contrary...if we place God first in our
lives then all of our loved ones will also come first, not
only when they are lovable, but particularly, when the
ones we love become unlovable. It is easy to love when
it comes naturally...only in God can we dare to love at all
times.
Take time to refresh the life of the Spirit that has been
given you. Then witness your faith like disciples and
believers throughout the ages. Be assured of my prayers
for you and for your dear ones. May the good Lord bless
you with wisdom and peace. Please pray for me.
In Christ,
Msgr. Pablo A. Navarro

PRAYER FOR PROTECTION
AGAINST STORMS
God our Father,
You set the earth on its foundation.
Keep us safe from the danger of
Hurricanes and storms
And let us always feel the presence of Your love.
May we be secure in Your protection
And serve You with grateful hearts.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ,

Who lives and reigns with You and
the Holy Spirit,
One God forever and ever.
Amen.
Oh Mary, conceived without sin,
Pray for us who have recourse to you.
EUCHARISTIC ADORATION
FIRST FRIDAY OF
THE MONTH
FRIDAY, JULY 7, 8:00 p.m. -
SATURDAY, JULY 8,
7:45 a.m.
Three More Reasons From The Teachings Of
The Church For Wanting To Spend One Hour With
Jesus In The Blessed Sacrament
*You grow spiritually with each moment you spend
with Jesus! "Our essential commitment in life is to
preserve and advance constantly in Eucharistic life and
Eucharistic piety and to grow spiritually in the climate
of the Holy Eucharist." (Pope John Paul II, Redeemer of
Man)
*The best time you spend on earth is with Jesus, your
Best Friend, in the Blessed Sacrament!
"How great is the value of conversation with Christ
in the Blessed Sacrament, for there is nothing more
consoling on earth, nothing more efficacious for
advancing along the road of holiness!" (Pope Paul VI,
Mysterium Fidei)
*Just as you can’t be exposed to the sun without
receiving its rays, neither can you come to Jesus exposed
in the Blessed Sacrament without receiving the divine
rays of his grace, his love, his peace. "Christ is truly the
Emmanuel, that is, God with us, day and night, he is in
our midst. He dwells with us full of grace and truth.
He restores morality, nourishes virtue, consoles the
afflicted, strengthens the weak." (Pope Paul VI,
Mysterium Fidei)
.

2017 JCC MACCABI GAMES® and ARTSFEST®
August 6-11, 2017 The Alper JCC is excited to host for the second time, the first being in 2001. The JCC Maccabi
Games® and ArtsFest® are more than a sports competition and arts workshops. They are an
experiential program encompassing the entire community. From home hospitality to volunteering
events, all of the community will have a role in this outreach effort for Jewish teens.
The JCC Maccabi Games® are a week-long Olympic-style sports competition that began in 1982.
Each year, three communities host the Games, with one also hosting JCC Maccabi ArtsFest®,
which was held for the first time in 2006. Attracting approximately 3,000 teens from around the globe, these events
give your teens a chance to meet other Jewish youth while participating in sports they love, or in an intense immer-
sion in their art.
When we say Team Miami, we mean Team Miami! The JCC Maccabi Games® and ArtsFest® are not the effort
of any one person, group, or organization. JCC Maccabi is a celebration of our entire community where we come
together to strengthen our identity, to engage all of Jewish Miami, and to build a foundation for continued partnership
and sustainability. Together, we will build a healthier Miami – Jewish and beyond. The 2017 JCC Maccabi Games®
and ArtsFest® in Miami will require the guiding hands of more than 1,000 volunteers. From administration to
transportation – and everything in between – there are opportunities that fit your interests your talents and your time
availability. Whether you volunteer the week of or in a role leading up to the event, we want your help. We cannot do
it alone, nor would we want to. Invest your time and talent and along with your friends and neighbors, help build an
experience that will be remembered for years to come. To sign up to volunteer please go to their website:
jccmaccabimiami.org .

NOTICIAS DEL APOSTOLADO HISPANO
REFLEXIÓN DEL PÁRROCO
DOMINGO DECIMO TERCERO
DEL TIEMPO ORDINARIO
2 DE JULIO, 2017
Queridos Amigos,
Cuando Dios requiere ser el primero en nuestras vidas
muchas veces nos causa pensar que Dios quiere que
amándolo a El, primordialmente, amemos menos a
Palabra y a Su plan divino. Por favor oren por mi.
Asegúrense que los tengo a ustedes y a sus seres queridos
en mis oraciones diarias. Que Dios los bendiga!
En Cristo,
Mons. Pablo A. Navarro
