National Space Club – Huntsville
• What we are– Since 1985 a non-profit organization dedicating to promoting United
States space leadership through conferences, workshops, and other media and educational means without attempting to influence legislation
• Who we are– Members come from government, industry, educational institutions, the
press and other walks of life
• What we do– Stimulate civilian and military applications of human and robotic space
technology for the benefit of all mankind– Educate the technical and non-technical population to the benefits of
space exploration– Honor and recognize individuals and organizations that contribute to the
advancement of aerospace and rocketry

• 2015 NSC-HSV Corporate membership:– Annual cost of $1,750: 1 table of 8 at 10 monthly breakfast
meetings (20% discount)
• Individual Membership: $25/year• Membership Receptions (preceded by speakers) • Annual von Braun Symposium in partnership with
American Astronautical Association, NASA MSFC & UAH (late October)
• Annual von Braun Memorial Dinner (late October)

Von Braun Memorial Dinner
• Held Annually Last Week in October– Present Awards for: Educator, Community Service, Communications,
Astronautics Engineer Award, Distinguished Science and the Dr. Wernher von Braun Space Flight Trophy & Scholarships
– 700-800 attendees at Davidson Center from civil and military space communities
• Partner with AAS to sponsor the von Braun Symposium, just before VBMD, with attendance by major policy makers, industry leaders and NASA leadership
• Features a keynote speaker from industry, Government, or Department of Defense
• Funds generated directly support NSC – HSV education programs and activities

Educational Activities
• Annual educational budget of ~$55K impacting over 4,000 students.
• Over last 6 years, total STEM related funding is ~$250K.
• Since 2008, over 17,000 students impacted: 44 college/university scholarships granted.
• Fund annual NSC scholarships to UAH, Alabama A&M, Calhoun Community College, and Athens State University to promote aerospace education.
• Award special grants to Huntsville City and Madison County schools (K-12
space project funding) and NSC “Aerospace Educator Award” that support space-related education
• Partner with AMSTEC, Sci-Quest, NASA MSFC, Huntsville Chamber of Commerce and USS&RC to provide financial aid for educational activities

Our Plans for the Future
• Increase membership and engagement from: civil and military sectors, community groups/organizations with a focus on college students, young professionals, minorities, women, and retirees.
• Increase community awareness and activities partnering with organizations to leverage programs and education focus and impact.
