Peter Ward My name is Peter Ward. I was appointed as a Community

Governor in November 2012. I am Chairperson of the

Personnel Committee and sit on the Finance Committee. I am

the link governor for pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural

    development.

Being a governor at Tettenhall Wood School is time consuming

but this is balanced by being part of a vibrant and successful

team of fellow governors and staff. We all have one common

aim, namely, that pupils get the very best out of the school and

enjoy themselves at the same time.

I recently attended the school swimming gala at the Central

Baths. This annual event was well supported by parents who

really got involved in supporting the various teams, with

chanting and applause!! The impact on pupils of this support

was overwhelming as witnessed in their smiling faces and

determination. Every pupil no matter what their particular

difficulties took part in the races even if some of them need a

    little bit of encouragement!

The amount of organisation that took place to transport the

pupils from school, get them ready, and allocated to their

particular teams and races had to be seen to be believed.

Special thanks to Diana for organising what was a great event.

The event was proof, if any was needed, of the enthusiasm of

both pupils and staff at Tettenhall Wood School to create an

environment in which anything is possible no matter what the

    difficulties.

Finally I would like to wish Mostyn a long and happy retirement

and thank him for the hard work and commitment he has put

into making our school such a successful and happy school.
