THE JOURNEY... The goal of every believer is to follow Jesus. Along the way some people drop out and others burn out. Some just settle in and take it easy. But there are some Christians who seem to march to a different tune. Their lives are daring and God seems to work through them in life-changing ways. They are people who don’t just know about God, they seem to know God!

So, how do we help people KNOW God? The Bible often pictures the Christian life as a journey. 1 John 2:6, “Whoever claims to live in Him must walk as Jesus did.”

The Journey keeps us moving in the same direction, and will deepen our walk with Jesus. The path is not a program, it’s a way of life.

Five Steps on “The Journey”

1. Celebrate in One Worship Service

2. Connect with One Life Group

3. Commit to One Area of Service

4. Create One Moment a Day with God

5. Cast for One Pre-Christian

BAPTISM EVENT May 2 & 3 | Burlington & Union CampusesLed by: Brian | [email protected] Interested in being baptized? Join us for a church-wide baptism service and celebration during all the service times. Contact Brian with questions or interest in being part of this new life experience. READING AND JOURNALINGRecommended Reading: Love & Respect in the Family by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs Children need love. Parents need respect. It is as simple and complex as that! When frustrated with an unresponsive child, a parent doesn’t declare, “You don’t love me.” Instead the parent asserts, “You are being disrespectful right now.” A parent needs to feel respected, especially during conflicts. When upset, a child does not whine, “You don’t respect me.” Instead, a child pouts, “You don’t love me.” A child needs to feel loved, especially during disputes. But here’s the rub: An unloved child (or teen) negatively reacts in a way that feels disrespectful to a parent. A disrespected parent negatively reacts in a way that feels unloving to the child. This dynamic gives birth to the FAMILY CRAZY CYCLE.So how is one to break out of this cycle? Best-selling author Emerson Eggerichs has studied the family dynamic for more than 30 years, having his Ph. D. in Child and Family Ecology. As a senior pastor for nearly two decades, Eggerichs builds on a foundation of strong biblical principles, walking the reader through an entirely new way to approach the family dynamic. For instance, God reveals ways to defuse the craziness with our children from preschooler to teen, plus how to motivate them to obey and how to deal with them when they don’t. In the Bible, God has spoken specifically to parents on how to parent. This book is about that revelation. cr
