Funeral services were Friday, September 16, at 2 p.m. at McKenzie Funeral Home with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Elders Ed Long, Loyce Fuller and T.L. Webb, Jr. con- ducted the service. Mrs. McClure was born October 10, 1918 to the late Elmer and Nan- nie Perry Travis of Henry County. She was the widow of Marshall Leonard McClure whom she mar- ried December 1, 1934. She and her husband farmed while living in Henry County near Como. They moved to McKenzie in 1966 where he died on September 28, 1987. She kept children in her home for a number of years after mov- ing to McKenzie. She was a mem- ber of Union Primitive Baptist Church in Henry County. Besides her parents and hus- band, she was preceded in death by three brothers, J.B., Earl and Claud Travis; and two sisters, Maybell Newbill and Lyndell Har- ris; and one niece, Kay Newbill Abner. Survivors include: one daugh- ter, Shirley (Ray) Nanney, and one grandson, Terry Nanney, all of McKenzie. Serving as pallbearers were Billy Phelps, David Harrison, Larry Kee, Kelly Weatherford, Jerry Harris and James Travis. Willard Ross was an honorary pallbearer. Paid obit WILLIAM PAUL LONG 1947-2011 MCKENZIE: William Paul Long, 64, died Sunday, September 18, 2011 at Huntingdon Health & Rehab Center in Huntingdon. Funeral services are Wednesday, September 21, at 11 a.m. at Brum- mitt Funeral Home with burial in Shiloh Cemetery, McKenzie. Mr. Long was born July, 1947 in Milan to the late William and Annie M. Long. He was a retired salesman, a Navy veteran and a member of McKenzie Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, David Long. Survivors include: his wife, Suzie Cozart Long of McKenzie; one son, Doug (Vicki) Long of McKenzie; and one grandson, Hayden Long. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorials be made to the McKenzie Cumber- land Presbyterian Church Build- ing Fund. She was a member of Long Heights Baptist Church and a teacher’s aide at McKenzie El- ementary School. She was pre- ceded in death by her father, Billy Clayton Reeder. Survivors include: her mother, Wanda P. Reeder of McKenzie; two uncles, Charles (Wiley) Pol- lock of Sanger, Texas, and Jerry (Nancy) Reeder of McKenzie; and four cousins. Visitation is Friday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until service time. Paid obit NEIL HAYNES SAVANNAH: Neil Ray Haynes, 68, former administrator at Har- din County School System, died Wednesday, September 14, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Services were Friday, September 16, at East End United Methodist Church in Savannah with Rev. Richard Wesley and Pas- tor Mary Foote officiating. Burial followed in Oakwood Cemetery, Milan, with Dr. Michael McAdoo closing the ceremony with prayer. Bodkin Funeral Home had charge. Pallbearers were Kevin Davis, Bob Adkinsson, Tony Fondren, Donnie Burrow, Keith Namishia and Bob Shutt. Mr. Haynes was a member of East End United Methodist Church, Savannah, where he served as Finance Chairman, member of the Administrative Council and choir member. He be- longed to the TSSAA and coached football at Milan, Huntingdon and Savannah Middle School. He also served a dual role as superinten- dent/principal in Atwood from 1969-1970. He began his college career at the University of Mem- phis, played football at Murray State University on a scholar- ship and was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. He received his Masters at UTK in 1969 and attained 45 hours toward his Doctorate. Mr. Haynes, the husband of Judy Creswell Haynes, also leaves a son, Neil Scott Haynes and wife Shawna of Bells; a brother, John- ny W. Haynes (Betty) of Hollow Rock; a sister, Nancy Haynes Rob- inson (Hal) of Maryville and two grandchildren, Alexander Hunter Haynes of Savannah and Jocelyn Evie Nicole Haynes of Bells; and many nieces and nephews. Memorials may be directed to the East End United Methodist Church, 104 Fairground Street, Savannah, TN 38372. Mrs. Corbin was born Decem- ber, 1921, to the late James Gurth- el and Hattie Carey Edwards. She was a member of First Baptist Church and a retired office nurse for E.E. Edwards, S.S. Walker, Lane Bicknell, and Volker Win- kler. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Walter H. Shooter and Joe Corbin; and her brother, Bill Edwards. Survivors include: two daugh- ters, Becky Scates and Tenia (Jim- my) King, both of McKenzie; one son, Joe Shooter of Sentatobia, Mississippi; two sisters, Olean Blount of Westport and Clarice Feazel of Belleville, Illinois; two brothers, Jerry (Martha) Edwards of Steger, Illinois and Jessie (Mar- ion) Edwards of Paris; six grand- children, Jeff Wilson, Jennifer (Cary) Clay, Cheryl King, David King, Amber King, and Mary Shooter; and four great-grand- children, Payton Clay, Matthew Clay, Kristen Harris and Cortney Wilson. Funeral services were Tuesday, September 13, at 2 p.m. at Chase Funeral Home with Jerome Han- cock, Richard Akins and Matthew Floyd officiating. Burial followed in Humbles Chapel Cemetery. Mr. Williams was born Decem- ber 31, 1943 in Carroll County. He attended Humbles Chapel Mis- sionary Baptist Church, was a master technician for Beech Lake Marine, and served in the Army, on the Carroll County Volunteer Fire Department, Engine #3 for over 30 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Oren H. Wil- liams; and mother-in-law, Birdie Hampton. Survivors include: his wife of 47 years, Barbara Ann Williams; two sons, Mike (Jana) Williams of Camden and Mark Williams of Buena Vista; three grand- daughters and three great-grand- children. LOU WILLIE RUMLEY 1912-2011 MCKENZIE: Lou Willie Rumley, 98, formerly of Huntingdon, died Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at McKenzie Regional Hospital. Fu- neral services were Friday, Sep- tember 16, at 1:30 p.m. at Dilday- Carter Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Trull officiating. Burial followed in Liberty All Cemetery. Mrs. Rumley was born Novem- ber 8, 1912 in Carroll County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Rumley; her parents, and siblings. Survivors include several niec- es and nephews. STEVEN MANSON LEACH 1941-2011 MCKENZIE: Steven Manson Leach, 70, died Monday, Septem- ber 12, 2011 at Regional Hospital of Jackson. Graveside services were Wednesday, September 14, at 11 a.m. at Enon Cemetery with Bro. Richard Allen officiating. Mr. Leach was born June 13, 1941 in Cape Cod, Massachusetts to the late Howard and Phyllis Leach. He was a truck driver and laborer and member of Enon Baptist Church. Survivors include: his wife of 38 years, Martha Bighinatti Leach of McKenzie; two daughters, Cin- dy Leach and Teresa Leach; two sons, Steven Leach and Christo- pher Leach; one brother and one grandchild. McKenzie Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. ROBERT CHRISTOPHER GOBER, JR. 1985-2011 WHITEHOUSE, TENNESSEE: Robert Christopher Gober, Jr., 25, died Monday, September 5, 2011. Funeral services were Thurs- day, September 8, with a private burial. Survivors include: his mother and father, Melissa Gober Cook and Robert C. Gobert, Sr.; one son, Dallas Christopher Gober; one brother, Justin Michael Crutch- field; grandmother, Wanda Loftis; and grandparents, James and Debbie Johnson. McKenzie Senior Citizens Presented American Flag The McKenzie Senior Citizens Center were presented an American flag by Woodmen of the World Field Representative Billy Hollowell. Back row from left; Martha Lemonds, Van Ramsey, George Harper, and Gaylon Sydnor. Wedding congratulations to Lisa and Ryan Griffin. They were married on September 10. Lisa is the office manager at Lake- side Senior Living. Some of the residents and staff attended the beautiful wedding, at McKenzie First Baptist Church. Get well wishes to Peggy Ball in the McKenzie Health and Re- hab. The cooler weather has brought many of the residents outside, en- joying the fresh air and exercis- ing on the walking trail. We had a wonderful time with Max Byee and Carl Byars last week. They entertained us with their guitars and vocals. We al- ways have our favorite requests for them. Thanks to A Place Called Home for the tidbits and tea on Wednes- day. We had a great combination of a good time on a Friday after- noon eating homemade banana ice cream, while listening to the classical music of Ms. Barbara Clark on the piano. Nina Campbell, Dot Freeman, Olga Malanowski, Marian Bur- son and Barbara Sykes enjoyed our day out to Paris. We shopped at Walmart and had a very good lunch at Tom’s Steak House. We came home with lighter purses, fuller stomachs and tired feet, but everyone agreed it was a good day. Nina Campbell, Catherine Kee, Marian Burson, Linda Crider and Virginia Jeter visited with Peggy Ball at McKenzie Health and Rehab. We were so glad to see Peggy improving and working hard in therapy. Ms. Barbara Sykes had the lucky bingo card this week. Johnny and Zuba Arnold vis- ited on game day, and played skip-bo with us. Everyone was a winner. A special thanks to all our vol- unteers and visitors. You are al- ways welcome at Lakeside Senior Living. Living at Lakeside By Julia Fowler First thing that I must do is add something to the birth announce- ment of Sawyer Baine Lampkins, son of Noah and Lesley Lampkins. They are the proud parents and proud grandparents are Roger and Becky Sawyers, also Don Lamp- kins and Cindy Lampkins. Mrs. Brooksie Stephens has left Health South and is now recuper- ating at McKenzie Rehab Center. She has a broken pelvic bone and is having a lot of pain. Evangelist Rev. Ken Freeman from Texas held a revival at First Baptist Church in Gleason and several people were led to Jesus. Chad and Brandy (House) Houchin are proud to announce the birth of Graham Everett Tack Houchin on Friday, September 16, weighing in at 8 lbs. 12 oz. Mater- nal grandparents are Karen and Dee House. Paternal grandparents are Karen Houchin and the late Tuck Houchin. The proud great- grandparent is Sarah Ann Galli- more and the late Mayo Gallimore. Jeff Jowers has been moved Tater Town Talk from the Henry County Hospital in Paris to the ICU Unit at Jack- son Madison County Hospital. Tater Town is planning a city wide yard sale on October 7 and 8. If interested in participating, you can call the City Hall. MARY KATHLEEN MCCLURE1934-2011

MCKENZIE: Mary Kathleen McClure, 92, died Wednesday, Sep-tember 14, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital where she had been since August 7 af-ter suffering a stroke. Funeral services were Friday, September 16, at 2 p.m. at McKenzie Funeral Home with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Elders Ed Long, Loyce Fuller and T.L. Webb, Jr. con-ducted the service.

Mrs. McClure was born October 10, 1918 to the late Elmer and Nan-nie Perry Travis of Henry County. She was the widow of Marshall Leonard McClure whom she mar-ried December 1, 1934. Survivors include: two daugh-ters, Becky Scates and Tenia (Jim-my) King, both of McKenzie; one son, Joe Shooter of Sentatobia, Mississippi; two sisters, Olean Blount of Westport and Clarice Feazel of Belleville, Illinois; two brothers, Jerry (Martha) Edwards of Steger, Illinois and Jessie (Mar-ion) Edwards of Paris; six grand-children, Jeff Wilson, Jennifer (Cary) Clay, Cheryl King, David King, Amber King, and Mary Shooter; and four great-grand-children, Payton Clay, Matthew Clay, Kristen Harris and Cortney Wilson.

Visitation is Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at First Baptist Church and Wednesday from 12 p.m. until service time.

BUENA VISTA: James Hu-bert Williams, 67, died Friday, September 9, 2011 at his home. Funeral services were Tuesday, September 13, at 2 p.m. at Chase Funeral Home with Jerome Han-cock, Richard Akins and Matthew Floyd officiating. Burial followed

in Humbles Chapel Cemetery. Mr. Williams was born Decem-

ber 31, 1943 in Carroll County. He attended Humbles Chapel Mis-sionary Baptist Church, was a master technician for Beech Lake Marine, and served in the Army, on the Carroll County Volunteer Fire Department, Engine #3 for over 30 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Oren H. Wil-liams; and mother-in-law, Birdie Hampton.

Survivors include: his wife of 47 years, Barbara Ann Williams; two sons, Mike (Jana) Williams of Camden and Mark Williams of Buena Vista; three grand-daughters and three great-grand-children.

LOU WILLIE RUMLEY1912-2011

MCKENZIE: Lou Willie Rumley, 98, formerly of Huntingdon, died Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at McKenzie Regional Hospital. Fu-neral services were Friday, Sep-tember 16, at 1:30 p.m. at Dilday-Carter Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Trull officiating. Burial followed in Liberty All Cemetery.

Mrs. Rumley was born Novem-ber 8, 1912 in Carroll County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Rumley; her parents, and siblings.

Survivors include several niec-es and nephews.

1941-2011MCKENZIE: Steven Manson

Leach, 70, died Monday, Septem-ber 12, 2011 at Regional Hospital of Jackson. Graveside services were Wednesday, September 14, at 11 a.m. at Enon Cemetery with Bro. Richard Allen officiating.

Mr. Leach was born June 13, 1941 in Cape Cod, Massachusetts to the late Howard and Phyllis Leach. He was a truck driver and laborer and member of Enon Baptist Church.

Survivors include: his wife of 38 years, Martha Bighinatti Leach of McKenzie; two daughters, Cin-dy Leach and Teresa Leach; two sons, Steven Leach and Christo-pher Leach; one brother and one grandchild.

McKenzie Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Robert Christopher Gober, Jr., 25, died Monday, September 5, 2011. Funeral services were Thurs-day, September 8, with a private burial.

Survivors include: his mother and father, Melissa Gober Cook and Robert C. Gobert, Sr.; one son, Dallas Christopher Gober; one brother, Justin Michael Crutch-field; grandmother, Wanda Loftis; and grandparents, James and Debbie Johnson.

McKenzie Senior Citizens Presented American Flag

The McKenzie Senior Citizens Center were presented an American flag by Woodmen of the World Field Representative Billy Hollowell. Wedding congratulations to Lisa and Ryan Griffin. They were married on September 10. Lisa is the office manager at Lake-side Senior Living. Some of the residents and staff attended the beautiful wedding, at McKenzie First Baptist Church.

The cooler weather has brought many of the residents outside, en-joying the fresh air and exercis-ing on the walking trail.

We had a wonderful time with Max Byee and Carl Byars last week. They entertained us with their guitars and vocals. We al-

ways have our favorite requests for them.

Thanks to A Place Called Home for the tidbits and tea on Wednes-day.

We had a great combination of a good time on a Friday after-noon eating homemade banana ice cream, while listening to the classical music of Ms. Barbara Clark on the piano.

Nina Campbell, Dot Freeman, Olga Malanowski, Marian Bur-son and Barbara Sykes enjoyed our day out to Paris. We shopped at Walmart and had a very good lunch at Tom’s Steak House. We came home with lighter purses, fuller stomachs and tired feet,

but everyone agreed it was a good day.

Nina Campbell, Catherine Kee, Marian Burson, Linda Crider and Virginia Jeter visited with Peggy Ball at McKenzie Health and Rehab. We were so glad to see Peggy improving and working hard in therapy.

Ms. Barbara Sykes had the lucky bingo card this week.

Johnny and Zuba Arnold vis-ited on game day, and played skip-bo with us. Everyone was a winner.

First thing that I must do is add something to the birth announce-ment of Sawyer Baine Lampkins, son of Noah and Lesley Lampkins. They are the proud parents and proud grandparents are Roger and Becky Sawyers, also Don Lamp-kins and Cindy Lampkins.

Mrs. Brooksie Stephens has left Health South and is now recuper-ating at McKenzie Rehab Center. She has a broken pelvic bone and is having a lot of pain.

Evangelist Rev. Ken Freeman from Texas held a revival at First Baptist Church in Gleason and several people were led to Jesus.

Chad and Brandy (House) Houchin are proud to announce the birth of Graham Everett Tack Houchin on Friday, September 16, weighing in at 8 lbs. 12 oz. Mater-nal grandparents are Karen and Dee House. Paternal grandparents are Karen Houchin and the late Tuck Houchin. The proud great-grandparent is Sarah Ann Galli-more and the late Mayo Gallimore.

Jeff Jowers has been moved

Tater Town Talkfrom the Henry County Hospital in Paris to the ICU Unit at Jack-son Madison County Hospital.

Tater Town is planning a city wide yard sale on October 7 and 8. If interested in participating, you can call the City Hall.

Mrs. Maudell Beasley has re-turned to her home in Gleason after an extended stay in the McKenzie Rehab Center.
