On December 3, 2019, the SEU'sGeneral Manager participated in the"When Taking Care of BusinessRequires Working Overtime" webinarconducted by Pillsbury Winthrop ShawPittman LLP. The webinar covered thetopic of overtime exemptions under theFair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Itfocused on an overview of the law, itspenalties, and strategies the SEU canfollow to remain in compliance.
The SEU established a three-month-longmentor and training program for theSEU's Administrative &TrafficAssistant. This program is marketing-focused and targets broadcast sales. Aspart of this program, the trainee goes onsales calls with SEU sales staffmembers, attends remotes with sales andprogramming staff, attends outsidestation promotional events underguidance of sales staff, learns proposalcreation, and trains in salespresentations.
