And to our rightda beautiful sand bar Cheverie Outcrop in distance Getting the gear on the beach Wheelbarrows make good pack horses. Dolomitic siltstones have yeilded many vertebrate fossils Final Destination Or Good ol tree slumping Searching for Ostracodes This layer provided many trace fossils for the paleo lab. Same Place Grander Scale This is how mother nature can sometimes make geology difficult to uncover Maybe if I hold it on the side I wont get my thumb this time Dr. Spooner would love this Note the cyclicity in these cliffs, indicating alternating deepwater and shoreline deposits. Pretty Impressive isnt it? Found loose on the beach: Lepidodendron-like tree trunk (Sphenopsid) Coal layer found in between shale beds from the cliff Heather and her magnetic lean to the angle of the beds Dashed lines show some of the obvious faults in the area Wave ripples Cross cutting wave ripples Massive Slumping Hey Barry come see this cool bear Im carving from this rock A Panoramic peak at the beach and its black shale cliffs with interbedded sandstone layers. Arthropod or Worm Burrows Raindrop Prints Nope, not worm burrows but Mud Crack Fillings AAAAAAHHHHHH, Ill get it!!!!! Victory! This was a great find..Careful chiseling gave us the top layer without having to carry the whole rock back to the cars here, fossil fossil fossil More ripple marks Crossopterygian Tooth Wave ripples overprinting the burrows Jack, the Blue Beach dog He was with us the whole trip & followed us back to the cars..
