INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE

• My internship experience was very rewarding overall.

• I meet many influential people, as well as Sam Houston alumni

• A huge sense of community togetherness

• Small town politics

• I also learned about marketing, economic development, business interactions and professionalism.

• I learned that there is a great deal of differences between San Antonio and Palestine.

PROJECTS & RESOURCES & IMPORTANCE

• Researched Christmas Events around Texas• Sat in on a lot of meetings to help me learn more about the

business world• Went to the Ribbon Cutting at Comfort Suites• Went to the Business Mixer at the Hampton Suites• Went on the City Parks Tour with Mark Price• Went Blueberry Picking• Host to Courtney Hoffman• Meet a wide variety of government official people as well

as influential people throughout the community• Attended rotary meetings• Attended the Texas Chamber of Commerce Trade-Show

PROJECTS & RESOURCES & IMPORTANCE

• Researched and found all new addresses for the media contact lists• Helped write the press release about myself and the press release for the

fourth of July• Typed all of the historic home tour packets and helped Linda with actually

driving one of them• Cleaned and organized the storage room• Created the Events Distribution List• Helped with the Hotelier Meeting and completing the boxes of brochures

that they took.• Helped decorate Wendy’s truck for the Adrian Peterson Parade• Researched Free Event Listing Websites• Helped and Judged the Children’s Fourth of July Parade• Helped with room preparations for various meetings which is to include:

– Packet preparations– Room set-up

– Documents that the office already had

• Importance:– The importance of the projects that I did, not only

helped out the marketing director and the economic development coordinator, but it allowed me to learn all of the different aspects of the a real work place and how to deal with certain aspects of work situations.
