Feel :SensitivityPamal, a small town in Ludhiana district of Punjab.
During monsoons the road to school is completely damaged and school is immersed in water from all sides. As a result the staff has to run the school in a Gurudwara for a period of 30-45 days every year.
Gravity of Situation
We started with the discussion on possible ways of making the road usable for children, expenses, & most important the involvement of whole community and village in the project. Main steps were:
Support from village Sarpanch & Panchayat.Support from “Narega” workers. Requirement of sand and concrete to fill the road. Budget for the refreshment of workers involved with us.
Why village community? We wanted to create an awareness among the villagers to work for their own cause and not to depend on government or municipality to come and do the work.
Imagine : Action Plan
Do :Implementation of the Project
After the hard work and labor for one month finally came the day to witness the change.
It was rightfully said by Gandhiji, “ Be the change you wish to see in the world”.
