1. Scope of this Milestone

The  purpose  of  this  report  is  to  provide  the  support  for  documentation  of  the  DEVOTES  panels  available

on  the  web  as  of  26th  November  2014  (M25).  This  was  reported  in  the  Description  of  Work  (Milestone

30  -‐  MS30)  as  part  of  dissemination  activities  undertaken  in  the  context  of  the  Specific  objective  7.2

“Provide  effective  and  efficient  dissemination  to  end-‐users,  managers  and  society”  of  WP7.

The  aim  of  this  Milestone  is  to  provide  the  general  public,  scientists  and  stakeholders  with  informative

panels  on  marine  biodiversity  and  on  the  importance  of  the  marine  monitoring  activities.  The  panels  can

also  be  used  by  partners  to  promote  the  DEVOTES  innovative  tools  through  exhibition  and  educational

events.

2. Panels

To  achieve  the  specific  objective  of  creating  an  exhibition  on  the  importance  of  advanced  marine

monitoring,  the  following  main  topics  have  been  selected:

-‐  Marine  Biodiversity,

-‐  Marine  Strategy  Framework  Directive

-‐  Impacts  and  Pressures  on  Marine  Ecosystems

-‐  Innovative  Marine  Monitoring  Techniques

The  panels  can  be  downloaded  from  the  project  website  (http://www.devotes-‐project.eu/panels-‐

advanced-‐marine-‐monitoring),  printed  and  used  to  prepare  an  exhibition  on  marine  monitoring

activities.  The  panels  have  been  designed  so  that  they  can  also  be  used  individually  or  independently  of

each  other.

All  the  information  presented  in  the  panels  was  collected  from  scientific  publications  and  from

outcomes  of  the  DEVOTES  project  (papers,  deliverables  or  milestones).

A  Power  Point  version  of  each  panel  will  be  made  available  for  DEVOTES  members  in  the  Partners’  Area

of  the  website  (http://www.devotes-‐project.eu/panels-‐on-‐marine-‐monitoring-‐restricted)  .  This  will

allow  each  institution  to  translate  the  text  and  use  them  to  during  regional  and  national  events.
