PANGRAMS


A pangram is a sentence that uses

every letter of the

alphabet at least once.


The word pangram

comes from the Greek for “all letters”.(pan = All; grámma =

Letter)


A person that studies

pangrams is known as a Pangramist.


Pangramists are always

searching for the “perfect pangram” – a sentence with only 26 letters.


Most “perfect pangrams” don’t really

make sense – they are

usually just a collection of

words.


An example of a “perfect

pangram” is:“Mr. Jock, TV

quiz PhD, bags few lynx”.


Another is:“Blowzy night-frumps

vex'd Jack Q”.


A “typographer”

is a person who works on setting and arranging fonts for

typing and printing.


Typographers like pangrams as they show an example of

what every letter will look like in a new

font.


Typing Tutors also like

pangrams as they require students to use every

letter on the keyboard.
