Curt Tomasevicz grew up in Shelby, Nebraska, a small town of nearly 700 people. While attending UNL, Curt played running back and linebacker for the
Huskers. He joined Team USA’s bobsledding team in 2006 with sixth place in Torino. At the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver, he and his teammates slid to a
first place gold medal, following up with a third place medal at the Sochi Olympics. He is one of only six American bobsledders to earn multiple Olympic
medals. Join us for this exciting keynote presentation where Curt will encourage attendees to:

SAFETY TRACK:
*Managing Musculoskeletal Aches, Pains, and Injuries
Mike Moravec, PT, Monument Physical Therapy
Learn how to recognize that good posture can help prevent injury, and learn
exercises that can benefit the chemical makeup of muscles and bones to
prevent injury. This session will suggest solutions to help avoid musculoskel-
etal injuries from repetitive use, aging, and lifting.
WELLNESS TRACK:
*Evidence-Based Chronic Disease Prevention Resources
Tabi Prochazka and Cheri Farris, Panhandle Public Health District
Learn how to bring two highly effective resources to your worksite, the
National Diabetes Prevention Program and Health Coaching. Both are
evidence based, lifestyle change programs showing positive impact on
costly chronic diseases like heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and can-
cer. This session will give a program overview and tools for implemen-
tation through promotion, policies, and procedures. Local success sto-
ries will be highlighted.

*Sleep Implications on Safety and Wellness
Dr. Norman Imes, received his medical degree and internal medicine degree from the University of Oklahoma. He has a long-standing interest in sleep
related breathing disorders and published some of the first articles in medical literature describing the sleep apnea syndrome and its pathophysiology. Dr.
Imes is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, Sleep Medicine and a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the OU Health Sciences Center.

*Prescription Drug Use
Amy Reynoldson, Prescription Drug Overdose Coordinator with the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services and Felicia Quintana-Zinn, Pre-
scription Drug Overdose Epidemiologist will discuss:
The current health burden of prescription drug overdose in Nebraska.
The efforts of the prescription drug overdose prevention program (PDMP) including program enhancements, pain management guidelines, and ex-
panded access to Naloxone.
Attendees will be educated on supportive programmatic resources available.
*A total of four HRCI and SHRM credits are available for the sessions marked above. The use of this seal is not endorsed by the HR Certification Institute of the quality of the activity.
