In jenem Jahr 1896 wurden sie gegründet: Die Panther Fahrradwerke Magdeburg. Damals waren Fahrräder echte Luxusobjekte und wurden mit großer Hingabe, Detailverliebtheit und handwerklichem Können gefertigt. Ideale, die bei Panther bis heute höchsten Stellenwert genießen.

1907 entstand die Pantherwerke AG Braunschweig aus dem Zusammenschluss der Braunschweiger Fahrradwerke AG und der Pantherwerke Magdeburg. Schon 1930 stellte das Unternehmen von Vernickelung auf Verchromung um und setzte damit zukunftsweisende Maßstäbe für die Zweiradindustrie. So wie auch 1957, als mit „Pfi ff“ das zerlegbare Mehrzweckrad zum Trendsetter für die bis Anfang der 70er beliebten Klappräder wurde. In diese Zeit fällt auch der Kauf des Unternehmens durch die Schminke-Werke, Bad Wildungen (1962).

Heute lenkt Michael Schminke, Sohn des damaligen Inhabers Richard Schminke, die Pantherwerke AG mit Hauptsitz in Gohfeld bei Löhne in Westfalen (GER). Dort, sowie in Siauliai, Litauen und in Zábreh, Tschechien, werden Bikes des 21. Jahrhunderts gefertigt. Immer noch treu den gleichen Prinzipien, die im 19. und 20. Jahrhundert Panther zu einem der führenden Hersteller in Deutschland und Europa machten.

Inzwischen sind es viele Millionen Räder und aus den Luxus-Drahteseln der Anfangsjahre wurden State-of-the-Art-Bikes, die in Technik und Qualität höchsten Ansprüchen gerecht werden. Unverkennbar durch ihr Lifestyle-Design, geprägt von Design-Teams, die trendige Formen- und Farbwelten brillant zu inszenieren wissen. Dies ausschließlich mit hochwertigen Unterlack-Dekoren.

Sie geben außergewöhnlichen Produkten den besonderen Touch. Beginnend bei der ergonomischen CAD-Entwicklung, über Laufradfertigung, Montage und Lackierung mit stoßfestem Lack – dank Pulverbeschichtung – bis zu umfassenden Qualitäts- und Funktionsprüfungen.

Mehr denn je bleibt Panther so auch bei seinen Modellen 2010 der Mission der Marke treu, die sich die uneingeschränkte Mobilität jedes Individuums zum Ziel gesetzt hat. Durch Systeme, welche Fortbewegung und Fortschritt garantieren für Menschen und Natur. Bei allem, was Lifestyle, Erlebnis, Gesundheit, Komfort und Umwelt betrifft geht es uns nur um eins: Die Mobilität Menschlicher Kraft!

Panther Fahrradwerke Magdeburg was established in the year 1896. At that time, bicycles were considered to be real luxury items and were manufactured with great devotion, loving attention to detail and fi ne craftsmanship. These ideals still enjoy a high status at Panther even today.

In 1907, Pantherwerke AG in Braunschweig was established. This came about through the amalgamation of the Fahrradwerke AG in Braunschweig and the Pantherwerke in Magdeburg. As early as 1930, the company switched from using nickel plating to chrome plating and set a pioneering standard for the two-wheel industry. The same thing applied in 1957 when „Pfi ff“ was born, the multi-purpose bike that could be taken apart. This became a trendsetter lasting right up until the beginning of the 70‘s and was one of the favourite types of folding bicycle. During this time, the company was sold to the Schminke-Werke in Bad Wildungen (1962).

Today, the company is guided by Michael Schminke, son of the then owner, Richard Schminke. The Pantherwerke AG`s head offi ce is in Löhne in Westphalia (GER). 21st century bikes are manufactured in Löhne as well as in Siauliai in Lithuania and in Zábreh in the Czech Republic. They are still being manufactured according to the same principles which held true in the 19th and 20th century and which made Panther one of the leading manufacturers in Germany and Europe.

Many millions of bikes have been made since then and the trusty old luxury bicycle that existed at the beginning has now turned into a state-of-the-art bike, second to none in terms of technology and quality. That bike is no longer recognisable thanks to a lifestyle design, stage-managed by expert design teams who specialize in the world of trendy forms and colours. This offered exclusively with a high-quality, clear-coated design. They lend an extra-special touch to the extraordinary products. Beginning with the ergonomic CAD development, then following manufacture of the wheel, assembly and an impact-resistant coating made possible thanks to powder-coating technology, right up to comprehensive tests for quality and function.

With its models for 2010, Panther has remained true to the brand mission more than ever before. The purpose of the mission was to give unrestricted mobility to each individual, using systems that guarantee progress and advancement for both man and nature. Lifestyle, adventure, health, comfort and environment all amount to one thing for us: Human powered mobility!

Für die Bewertung spielte dabei nicht nur das technische Zusammenspiel der eingesetzten Komponenten eine Rolle. Höchste Ansprüche wurden auch an Optik, Komfort, Einsatzspektrum und Preis-/ Leistungsverhältnis gestellt. Im Vordergrund aller Tests stand der Radfahrer und seine Ansprüche an ein modernes Bike. Bei allen vier Spezial-Titeln wurde jeweils ein Modell von PANTHER mit der Bestnote „Sehr Gut“ ausgezeichnet.

Top marks for Panther – four times over!PANTHER bikes were certainly put through their paces when renowned bicycle magazines took them into their test laboratories and performed routine road trials. Final marks weren‘t just based on the technical interaction of the components but also great value was placed on optic, comfort, spectrum of use and the value for money the bike afforded. At the forefront of the tests was the cyclist and his demands on a modern bike. In every individual category of the four special titles, a PANTHER model distinguished itself with the top mark of „Very Good“.

Besonders stabil, extrem belastbar!Das TR-888 Mammut ist besonders für Menschen mit einer Köpergröße von mehr als 1,90 m geeignet. Über die großen Rahmenhöhen von 65 cm (Herren-Modell) und 60 cm (Damen-Modell) wird bei komfortabler Sitz-Position die Trittkraft-Energie auch mit längeren Beinen, optimal genutzt. Der verstärkte Rahmen, die verstärkten Speichen, die doppelten Hohlkam-mern in den Felgen sowie die verstärkten Federn in Gabel und Sattelstütze sorgen bei entsprechender Gewichtsbelastung für ungetrübten Fahrspaß.

Particularly rugged, extremely resilient!The TR-888 Mammut is especially suited for persons taller than 1.90 m. Given a comfortable seating position, the pedal force energy, even of longer legs, is optimally used through the frame heights of 65 cm (model for men) and 60 cm (model for women). The reinforced frame and spokes, the double hollow chambers in the rims as well as the reinforced suspen-sion in the fork and seatpost under the corresponding weight loadensure pure riding fun.
