GRAIN ELEVATOR

FOREIGN TRADE ZONE #122Established in 1985, Foreign Trade Zone #122 was the first continental zone with refinery subzones. In 2013, Port Corpus Christi reorganized and expanded FTZ #122 under the Alternative Site Framework (ASF). This new program provides greater flexibility and expedites access to the benefits of the -FTZ program by using simpler and less time-consuming procedures to bring FTZ designation to locations where a company has decided to pursue an FTZ. Under the ASF, FTZ #122 now includes six counties within its service area – Aransas, Bee, Jim Wells, Kleberg, Nueces and San Patricio.

The grain elevator and elevator wharf, leased by ADM/Growmark River Systems Inc., is a Port of Corpus Christi facility located on the left bank of the Corpus Christi Industrial Canal, approximately 1.75 miles past the Corpus Christi Harbor Bridge.

• 5,000,000 bushel storage capacity• 36 concrete silos with 28 interstices

at the rear of the wharf• 39 concrete bins at the adjacent

annex and 4 circular, steel storage bins located nearby

• Used for shipments of grain, food and farm products

Port Corpus Christi is a member of South Texas Alliance for Regional Trade (START), a cooperative effort among three Texas ports formed to strengthen the region’s response to logistics and transportation needs, the driving forces of our diverse economy. The Alliance is anchored by Port San Antonio to the north, Port Corpus Christi on the waters of the Gulf of Mexico, and Port Laredo located on the U.S. – Mexico border. Our Ports have long-standing business relationships, bolstering the efforts and resources of our region. START offers support to existing and potential customers, as the ports unite the strengths of air, land and water and highway and rail connections within the region and into Mexico. If you are looking to start, relocate or expand your business to South Texas, we can help you find solutions for your supply chain logistics needs. southtexastrade.com

START

Our Security Department strives to provide the maritime commerce community with security and law enforcement services that are focused on stopping or limiting the effects of terrorism. Our department provides a layered security structure that involves, among other things: intelligent video analytics, physical security barrier systems, sophisticated and interoperable radio communications systems and a TWIC- based access control system. The Security Department has made strides in advancing security by establishing strict access control measures, conducting patrols, investigating suspicious activity and increasing awareness among employees and tenants. Our sworn law enforcement and unsworn security officers and surveillance analysts dispatchers provide community-oriented police and security services, while affording the Port area a formidable Homeland Security support structure both on land and on water.

SECURITY

ENVIRONMENTALPort operations are affected by a wide array of environmental regulations. Port Corpus Christi has an ISO 14001 certified Environmental Management System (EMS) to prioritize, control and improve our environmental impact. EMS is based on a system of “plan – do – check – act” with a goal of continual improvement.

Port Corpus Christi has initiatives such as recycling, anti-idling, electrical consumption reduction, spill prevention, water consumption reduction and improvment in storm water quality. Port Corpus Christi’s EMS program has been recognized, winning awards both locally and nationally.

EMS improves overall environmental performance, compliance, and pollution prevention and increases operational control and efficiency.

Port Corpus Christi works with Port users to collaborate on environmental stewardship and looks for projects that we can partner on and gain beneficial experience. Regional collaboration efforts to improve the environmental footprint of port operations is key to sustaining our natural resources.

Port Corpus Christi has maintained ISO 14001 certification since July 21, 2007.

Our employees are our most important resource. We protect this resource by maintaining a world class safety program. Working with established safety policies, is an absolute requirement for all employees.

Safety is a core value within the Port of Corpus Christi. This philosophy is shared by our top management and constantly communicated to our employees. Our aim is to ensure our employees return home safely to their families at the end of each day. Effective communication about our safety program and employee expectations is important to maintaining an effective safety culture.

As the Port of Corpus Christi continues to grow, safety will remain our #1 core value. Our safety program will continue to evolve and improve as best safety practices are shared among all our employees, with the constant goal of achieving safe and incident-free work environments.

Port Corpus Christi

P O R T S D E L I V E R P R O S P E R I T YFor centuries, seaports have served as a vital economic lifeline by bringing goods and services to people around the world. Today, approximately 99% of all overseas goods come into the United States by ships, and seaports continue to be the critical access to the global marketplace. Seaports generate trillions of dollars of economic activities throughout the Western Hemisphere, support employment for millions of people, and import and export more than 4.5 billion tons of different kinds of cargo. To meet the future demands of growth, the American Association of Port Authorities and its members are committed to keeping seaports navigable, secure and sustainable.
