The intent of the Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade is for 

participants of all ages to have fun and the themes conveyed

should be understandable by children and appropriate for viewing

by children. The Parade is intended to be a fun, local event for the

Gainesville community to celebrate the Christmas Season.

All participants, in this event, agree to indemnify, hold harmless

and release the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce, its

agents and employees, from any and all liability for any injury or 

damage which may arise out of or in any way be connected with

participation in the Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade.

Line-up information will be e-mailed to all entries no later than De-

cember 1st. It will include the entry’s staging area and position in

the Parade. Please inform all members of your entry your official

name, number, position and any other instructions.

No live Santa’s permitted! The Gainesville Area Chamber of 

Commerce will provide the official Santa.

All entries must be lit in some fashion. Parade line-up will begin at

4:00 p.m. on December 3rdth. Parade entries that arrive after 4:30

p.m. on December 3rd will not be allowed to enter the staging area

and participate in the Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade.

Parade line-up will be based on proper flow and movement of the

Parade, Parade staging space and safety. Parade dignitaries will

be placed toward the front of the Parade. Parade entries with musi-

cal aspects will be evenly spaced throughout the Parade. Only

Chamber Representatives can authorize a switch of the line-up on

the day of the Parade.

All entries must indicate if they have music or sound amplifyingsystems, and shall maintain a volume that will not interfere with

other entries, especially those with animals.

If an entry is informed by a Chamber Representative that the noise

generated by their entry is too loud; they shall immediately turn the

volume down or take other steps as given by Chamber Represen-

tatives.

Entries with children under the age of 18 must also have parents

other adult chaperones who will provide supervision. Applicants

required to ensure the safety of persons riding on the floats.

For safety, no material may be thrown, discarded or sprayed by

from any entry. No horns shall be honked (especially air horns). W

do not want any children running into the streets in front of cars

candy may NOT be tossed into the crowd.

All dogs in the Parade must be kept on leashes.

Entries involving animals of any kind must provide their own cleup, or “pooperscooper” immediately following their entry.

Participants on bicycles, scooters, skates, skateboards, etc. m

wear a helmet and proper safety equipment.

No smoking is allowed by any participant in the staging area or in

Parade.

The consumption of alcohol beverages either in the staging area o

the Parade is strictly prohibited.

This is a forward motion Parade; entrants may not stop to perform

front of the announcing stand, and there will be no stopping a

where along the Parade route. No entries will be allowed to swerve

the direction of spectators.

Follow the direction of Chamber Representatives and/or the Poli

They will have the right to accept, reject, reclassify, or remove a

entry, which does not adhere to the Parade Rules or Regulations.

By applying to participate in the Chamber of Commerce Christm

Parade, all participants in that entry agree to abide by all of the

rade Rules and Regulations. These rules and related informat

have been developed in the hope that the Parade will be fun, sa

festive, and a reflection of the Community we love so much.

All drivers must have a valid Driver’s License.

All Car/Riding Clubs will be charged a $40.00 group fee. 

The master of Ceremonies will be reading your entry’s description so be sure to

completely fill out this form otherwise, spectators won’t know who you are! Please

provide a brief description of your entry (Who you are, how long have you been a

group, how old is the vehicle, an interesting fact or two, etc.). Attach additional

sheet if needed.

Indemnity Agreement

The undersigned agrees to indemnity, hold harmless, and defend any action against the Gainesville

Area Chamber of Commerce and the City of Gainesville from and against all liabilities whatsoever 

arising out of their participation in the 2011 Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce Christmas Pa-

rade.
