What is a Correlative Conjunction?

Correlative Conjunctions are pairs of words that worktogether to connect two parts of a sentence that hold anequal value, or correlate with one another.

Correlative conjunctions are one of the three main typesof conjunctions, which also includes coordinating andsubordinating conjunctions. Additionally, there is a type ofadverb called a conjunctive adverb.

I will either go to Costa Rica or Panama for vacation

Either/Or

Neither the dogs nor the wild raccoons would eat thestew he made.

Neither/Nor

1.Do not use commas with Correlative Conjunctions unless there isan independent clause included with the second half of thecorrelative conjunction.
