Paraslim and Webtie
Paraslim
Paraslim is a modular formwork system for use in the construction of bridge deck
cantilevers. The system allows formwork to be erected and dismantled quickly
either piecemeal or in panels.
Paraslim – Deck edge formwork system
• All erection, adjustment and stripping
operations carried out safely from deck level.
• Fully adjustable to fit a wide range of steel or
concrete bridge beams and sheet piles.
• Rapid erection of prefabricated soffit panels at
ground level.
• Half the price of underslung or overslung
systems.
• Paraslim cantilever unit provides support and
safe access platform
• Up to 60m of Paraslim can be erected and
levelled in one shift by 2 operatives and an
engineer.
Paraslim
• The Paraslim cantilever unit provides a
safe access platform.
• The cantilever units are prefabricated
on the ground typically in 6m lengths.
• Units are craned into position and fixed
into place (via Paraslim tie) from bridge
deck level.

Paraslim Bracket Cast
Houses the Paraslim Tie

Paraslim Porthole Bearing
Connects the Paraslim Frame

the Superslim Soldier
porthole. 3m deck cantilevers cast on
Paraslim support.
Typical C Hook arrangement, lifting a
Paraslim module.
Webtie
Webtie is a 30kN capacity, soffit formwork suspension system for forming the infill slab
between steel girders in composite bridge deck construction.
Webtie has two distinct types:
• Webtie Saddle for internal beams
• Webtie Delta for edge beams
Webtie Saddle
Webtie Delta
• It enables bridge decks to be erected and
stripped at a high rate without the need for
access systems.
• Webtie straddles the top flanges of bridge
girders or attaches to shear connectors.
Webtie
The main advantages of using the system are:
• Webtie has rapid erection and disassembly
• Only a minimum quantity of equipment is required
• There is no need for making tie holes good
• Webtie has a 30kN load capacity
• It is independent of girder depth
• Works on both steel and concrete beam bridges
• The ties are non-wicking and rot proof
• Erection guide and procedures are available
Webtie
Webtie Edge Protectors
Available in plastic or extruded
aluminium variants, they are
used to protect the Webtie as it
passes over the edge of the
bridge beam/girder.
Secondary beams spaced across Super Slim bearers
