in times of WhatsApp and Co, fast communication via instant messenger has become indispensable. So we want to keep up with the times and also fulfi l our educational mandate for media competence. That‘s why we are introducing schul.cloud®.

What is the schul.cloud®?The schul.cloud® is a free-of-charge, GDPR-compliant messenger with integrated fi le storage. The technology behind schul.cloud® is the high-secure messenger stashcat®, which is currently used by many public authorities and companies. For example, the police forces in Lower Saxony and Hesse are already using stashcat®. Corresponding tests were made there to guarantee that everything is all right in terms of data protection laws.

How does the encryption work?When messages are sent, encryption is executed on the user‘s device using a combination of AES (256bit) and RSA (4096bit) algorithms to encrypt the data. All relevant data is encrypted on the way to and from the server and stored there encrypted as well.

How do the students benefi t?schul.cloud® is available on every device (smartphone, tablet, PC). By integrating their own mobile devices into the lessons, students will gain the media competence that is so important for their later professional life. Media disruptions are eliminated, as the familiar devices from private life can now also be used regularly for communication in everyday school life. The non-data protection compliant messenger app WhatsApp will be replaced by an equal and high-quality alternative.

Please fi ll out this form and give it to your son / daughter to take to school. We can then set up an account for you in the schul.cloud®. in order to make the schul.cloud® available to your child and to you, we need the fi rst and last name of your child. We will then create an assigned account. The name is used to assign the users within the platform in order to enable the communication between the persons you are talking to.

Furthermore, you have the possibility to add your fi rst names and surnames as parents or legal guardians. If you do so, we will also create an account for you as soon as we start the parental communication via the school messenger. So please feel free to include this information already today!

The name of your child will only be used for the purpose of identifi cation and allocation. The same applies if you as a parent wish to have your own access to the messenger.

The present declaration of consent is valid from the date of signature until the time at which your revocation of the declaration of consent reaches us. After your revocation, the user and any associated personal data will be removed from the schul.cloud® system as soon as possible. You have the right to revoke this declaration of consent at any time. Please contact our school by e-mail or inform the class teacher of your child about your decision.

Data protection noticeWe are obliged to inform you about your data protection rights. Accordingly, you have the right to information, correction, blocking, deletion, revocation, data transferability, objection. You also have the right to complain to the responsible supervisory authority about the personal data we have stored about you.
