Good Parenting is parenting that helps children succeed in school. It promotes intellectual curiosity , innovation and desire to achieve good.
Keep in weekly contact with your child’s teacher when ever grades fail below or 45%
• Take time to try to see the teacher’s side of things you and your child aren't always right.
Exercise reasonable patience.
Never miss a parent teacher meeting (both parent should attend the meeting if possible) It is easy, Its free…..And its too good , a deal to miss on.
Always share with your child what the teachers say at PTM. Silence or secrecy feels like a conspiracy for the child.
•Make most of every Parent teacher conference:•Have a goal-----•Write down the questions in advance •Be prepared to share information about your child.•Take notes for future reference.
If your child isn’t making as much a progress in reading as you think is appropriate, its time to talk to the teacher and come up with a plan.
Keep in mind however that there's a difference between getting more help and just putting more pressure on a child.
If you have complaints learn the proper art of complaining to school personnel:_
Get all the facts.
Follow established channels.
Be specific.
Avoid personal attacks
Be sure it’s your child’s problem not yours.
•
Take time to try to see the teacher’s side of things. You and your child aren’t always right.
Admonish your child to stop complaining about school work and just do it.
Time and energy on complain can be better used to actually getting something done.
Help your child understand the time to start studying for a test isn’t right before the exam.
Good Teachers and good Parents know the value of patience.
