Learning Platform Resources 

Clever 

All Grade Levels

We use Clever, an online platform, to login to most of our digital content. Programs, such as Nearpod, appear in Clever as a link to the teacher dashboard for that program but still require sign in with Google or other information. Students should go to Self Service: And download (iPad) or open (MacBook) Clever: If that does not work please use the following URL Address: https://goo.gl/hf1o5M or QR Code.

Signing In to Clever The following images show the steps both teachers and students should take to register and be able to utilize Clever and our digital programs. 1. 2. 3. 4.

Google Classroom 

All Grade Levels

Google Classroom is used to deliver student lessons online. Students can turn work in via this platform as well. How to Join a Google Classroom:

● Students log in using their Google account. ● Select “student” the first time they log in. ● Join with a Code:

○ Click the (+) button (bottom right of the iPad screen or top right of a computer) ○ Select “Join class” ○ Type in provided code

● Join from Invite: ○ Click “JOIN” on the class (you may need to refresh the screen: iPad - pull down on the

screen, Computer - click refresh) Video Resources:

Troubleshooting We have received reports of glitches and errors. Before emailing your concerns to your child’s teacher, please try the following:

1. Does this happen at specific times of day? If so, the issue could be due to an influx of users. Log out and try during the suggested times.

2. Try deleting and reinstalling the Google Classroom app. You can do this by clicking and holding the app icon. Click the X to delete the app. To reinstall, go to self-service and find the Google Classroom app, click reinstall.

3. Use the at the bottom right of the screen in your google classroom. This menu will pop up: Try the help center, many options are offered there to assist. If it is a recurring issue, please click the Report issue option and submit to Google.

Google Meet All Grade Levels

How to Join a Google Meet: ● GUIDELINES: Please remember, Google Meets is for meeting with teachers in an on-line

classroom-like setting while we are navigating through this time of school closures. Please make sure to follow the guidelines set by each of your teachers and be respectful when joining a Google Meet.

● PARENT DIRECTIONS:

○ From your child's iPad: 1) Click on the Google Meet icon- 2) Click on Join or start a meeting.

3) You will be prompted to enter your meeting code or nickname. (This is the special code your teacher gave you. 4) Then click Join now.

 Synergy Student Vue 

All Grade Levels

1) The student is asked to choose a school district and it will give you a list of options based on location.

2) It will then ask the student for an activation key. Students do not need an activation key so they should click on "Already Activated."

3) Once this is finished it will then take them to the regular login screen. That's it! The student's username is case sensitive and should be all lowercase.

Grades K - 5 (Math)

Student Login:

○ Login through Clever ● From a computer

○ Login through https://clever.com/ ○ Login as student ○ Login with Google ○ Click on ZEARN

● ISSUE: VIDEO DOESN’T PLAY ○ Clear History and Website Data in the iPad

■ Settings-Safari-Clear History and Website Data (How to clear the “History and Website Data”)

○ Be aware that student will need to re-enter their email and password information (link) ○ IF THE STEPS ABOVE DO NOT WORK, HERE IS ANOTHER OPTION ○ Download the Chrome browser through Self Service and login to Clever and Zearn

through Chrome ● Send Feedback icon: To report issues to ZEARN students and teachers can use “send

feedback” when logged in to directly report issues to ZEARN.

 Reading Eggs / Mathseeds 

Grades K - 2 (Reading & Math)

Students Login Through Clever:

● When students login, they simply need to click on the clever app and then click on the Reading Eggs or Mathseeds icon.

What can my student do?

● Reading Eggs / Reading Eggspress: ○ After logging in to Reading Eggs, students should click on either:

OR Reading Eggs Reading Eggspress (Your child will know which they are supposed to be working on.)

● Click on My Lessons:

○ After logging in to Mathseeds, students should click on Lessons:

● Saving Passwords in Mathseeds/Reading Eggs: If your student passwords do not populate, here are two videos that show you and your students the workaround. This will show you how the iPad saved the username and password, so students don’t have to type it in every time. Video1 Video2

● Tech Issue: Mathseeds has a tech issue. When students enter Mathseeds and push the math button to go to their homepage, the program doesn’t load. If this happens, please have the student click the refresh button. The program will quickly load after this and the student can continue with lessons.

● Tech Issue: There is a new issue for Mathseeds. When a student rotates the iPad from landscape mode to vertical mode a blue sign that says, “Please rotate your iPad.” comes up.

○ Here is a picture. ■ There are two things students can do.

1. They can either use an invisible scroll bar by the side of the iPad's screen. If this doesn’t work, ………..

2. Push the arrow to show what lesson they are on. Then use the green part next to the words “My Lessons” to scroll up and down. When the student has scrolled it far enough they can see what they were missing, click on the arrow again. Now the student can finish the lesson.

 Study Island 

Grades 3 - 8 (All Content)

How to Sign In (Available for Grades 3 - 8)

● Students Login through Clever

● Students are already enrolled and do not need to create an account.

How to Access Study Island Content ● After signing in through Clever, the student will have the option to either click on My Class or

select a program from the navigation bar to start working in Study Island.

● In My Class - students will see tasks that have been assigned to them.

● If Selecting the program option the student will choose their grade level then the subject area they want to work in,

● If this is the first time using the program or subject, the student may be required to take a pretest. If there is no pretest option, or if the student has already taken the pretest, they will be able to move on to content topics.

● Use the navigation bar on the left-hand side of the screen to access class assignments, reports, high scores, and writing assignments. This is also where they are able to access the other sections of the program.

● To pass a topic, a student must satisfy the topic’s passing goal, which is based on a minimum number of questions answered and a minimum percentage correct. A Blue Ribbon is displayed next to all passed topics.

Gizmos 

Grades 6 - 8 (Math & Science)

A link to the Gizmos Quick Start Tutorial can be found here. Teachers will give the students a Class Code to access the labs.

Sign In - Existing User 1. Go to the ExploreLearning Site. 2. Click on the Login/Enroll link at the top right corner.

3. Your User Name was assigned by Gizmos when you enrolled originally.

Literacy Sites and Resources Teachers can use this resource to find sites for online texts and reading materials for students.

OPEN eBooks Open eBooks is a K-8 app that makes thousands of popular books available free of charge for students enrolled in schools that receive Title 1 funding. The initiative is designed to address the challenge of providing digital reading materials to children living in low-income households—and to encourage a love of reading. This is an online library allowing students to “check out” up to 10 books at a time. Click for into on how to access this app.

ReadWorks Digital Digital ReadWorks offers online short texts teachers can assign according to grade level or lexile level. Nonfiction and literary articles with reading comprehension and vocabulary lessons, formative assessments, and teacher guidance.
