PARISH REGISTRATION: Welcome all new families and individuals.
Membership is a condition for the reception of the Sacraments of
Baptism, Confirmation and First Communion at St. Benedict, and for the
parish to issue a sponsorship certificate for those asked to be sacramental
sponsors. You must be a registered, contributing member for at least three
(3) months before a certificate will be given.
Registration forms are available in the Parish Office.
SACRAMENT OF THE ANOINTING OF THE SICK: If you are
seriously ill, going in for surgery or weak from old age, you may receive
the sacrament of the anointing of the sick. Please contact Fr. Duong if you
desire to receive this sacrament.
HOSPITAL & NURSING HOME & SHUT-IN VISITS: If you or any
members of your family are sick and in the hospital or a nursing home,
and you’d like Communion brought to them, please call the Parish Office.
FAITH FORMATION: All classes from Pre-K to High School are on
Sundays from 9:30-10:30am in the Parish Hall. For more information
call Lynne McGrath.
RCIA: Please call the Parish Office for more information.
MARRIAGES: Arrangements must be made with a priest/deacon at least
six (6) months in advance. Call the Parish Office for more information.

DSA SUPPORT APPEAL 2017 We are now fourteen weeks into the
Diocesan Support Appeal campaign, and as of today 60 of our parish
families have contributed $18,874.75. We need each of you to help us
reach our goal of $24,484.00.
Thank you for your support and generosity.
ST. BENEDICT DECAL: If you missed buying your decal you can come by
the church office to purchase one. The minimum cost is $5 for one or two for
$9, donations are appreciated. Proceeds will go to help fund for the restoration
of the church.
TRINITY DOME: This weekend our parish will participate in a national collection for the
Trinity Dome to complete the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in
Washington, DC, before its 100th anniversary. Also known as America’s Catholic Church, the
National Shrine has been a century in the making, built by and for our great nation in honor of our
Blessed Mother, the patroness of the United States. Become a part of Mary’s Shrine and help to

THE INTERNATIONAL-NATIONAL COMBINED COLLECTION will be taken at all
Masses next weekend. Your contribution to the good work of these organizations will give you an
opportunity to participate in the mission of the Church locally, nationally and internationally.
Please take the time to read the brochure you will receive from Msgr. West, give prayerful
thought to your level of participation and respond with a generous contribution. Envelopes for
this collection are in our parish envelope packet.
ALTAR SERVER TRAINING will resume on Saturday, May 20th

ST. BENEDICT’S CHOIR: Can you give some time to sing with the 11:00 choir? Reading
music is not necessary, and you can attend off and on as you are able. We rehearse Wednesday
evenings 6:30 - 7:30. Please call Dianne McCutcheon, 336.937.5453 with any questions.
THE DIVINE MERCY CHAPLET will be recited after 11:00 Mass and after all Daily Masses.

EUCHARIST CONGRESS 2017: Saint John Paul II called the Eucharist the “Source and
Summit” of Catholic life. Plan to spend a day in special worship during the Eucharistic Congress
of the Diocese of Charlotte, September 8 & 9, 2017 at the Charlotte Convention Center. Visit

ATTENTION ALL CATHOLIC YOUNG WOMEN ages rising high school freshmen through
freshmen in college! Do you know where your life is going? Do you have a desire to grow deeper
after the role model of our Lady? You are invited to attend the second annual Duc In Altum camp
to spend time with other young women your age, looking at the Lord’s call in your life while
having fun and receiving the tools for a strong prayer life. DIA is led by priests and Religious of
the diocese and is supported by the diocesan Office of Vocations. Duc In Altum will be held from
June 26- 30, 2017 at Belmont Abbey College in Belmont. The cost of the camp is $150.00. If you
