SEASON OF CREATION: Material for prayer and reflection on the theme of The Season of Creation (1st September–4th October) is available at the exit doors in church. Pope Francis has recommended this to our prayers and called for action to care for our planet and the environment.

SAFEGUARDING: Thank you to those members of parish groups who have come forward to renew their DBS documents. If you have not done so please arrange to do this with the help of our parish coordinators. Those who belong to any group associated with the work of our parish (including Choir members and Readers) CANNOT continue to do so if they do not have an up to date DBS check.

FATHER SIMON: Will be returning to Lima, Peru some time in the next few weeks. We wish him well and every blessing and I have assured him, on behalf of all us, of both our great appreciation for his ministry with us and an open door at any time.

LIFTING RESTRICTIONS IN CHURCH: Every opportunity should be taken to stay safe and keep others safe. It seems good practice going forward to use hand gel on entering church and we will keep the bench arrangements as they are for now. Please wear a mask if you can and follow whatever guidelines and directions given by our volunteers.

LITTLE CHURCH: If all goes well we will begin the Little Church again on the 4th Sunday in October. The next Children’s Mass, with children reading at the Mass, will be on 26th September. If anyone can assist with the Little Church please see Fr John.

ALTAR SERVERS: We hope to bring back our Servers in September (26th) and introduce new ones at Christmas from amongst those who have recently made their First Communion.

WEDDINGS: We ask God’s blessing on those who are to be married here in the coming weeks:

3rd September: Liam Orton & Anna McCaul 4th September: Tommy Sheridan & Eileen Vincent 11th September: Simon Ashe & Sophie Billington

BAPTISMS: We welcome into our parish community: 29th August: Thomas Bergh, Sophia Dawber, Olivia Bentham 5th September: William Murphy 12th September: Florence Riley, Felicity Harold

PRAYERS PLEASE: We ask for prayers for Ann White, whose funeral is here on Thursday 2nd September at 11.15am. The Rosary will be said the night before (Wednesday) at 7.00pm in church.

ADMINISTRATOR POSTS: See notices in church.

LIVE-STREAMING THE MASS: We will continue each Sunday at 10.30am unless otherwise notified. Some Sundays the Mass may be pre-recorded. Do tune in at home if you can. When following Mass online at home the Penance Rite is an important means of obtaining God’s Forgiveness at the start of Mass and also making a ‘Spiritual Communion’ at the appropriate time.

COMMUNION TO THE SICK: Ministers going to people's homes with Communion should ensure that there is no more than one other person in the sick room at the time. Confessions on request. When our Ministers of Communion wish to take Communion to the Sick, please ensure this is agreeable to all concerned and arrange with the priest or deacon before Mass to place the host in a pyx on the altar or to agree another time to take Communion to people. Face masks or face shields should be used and hand gel before and after the visit. One visit a day only is recommended.

REMINDER - CONFIRMATIONS: Two occasions are arranged. Thursday 25th November in St Helen’s Church Crosby at 7pm when the archbishop will be the celebrant and on Thursday 2nd December at 7pm also at St. Helen’s church, Bishop-elect Tom Neylon will be the celebrant. Invitations are being sent to candidates for Preparation meetings at St Helen’s Parish Centre in the Autumn.

OCTOBER DEVOTIONS: We are hoping to have the annual Quarant’ore in some form in October this year (all being well).

MASS TIMES: Please note that there may be changes to Mass times later in the Autumn.
