In the Second Reading, James is explaining the
importance of works in our Faith. He writes,
“So also faith of itself, if it does not have works,
is dead.”

Fellowship after the
The “Faith-based Brew Group” is a group
of parishioners who meet once a month
together for an informal gathering of fellowship
after the 9am weekday Mass. Much like our own families, we also
enjoy the company of our 9:00am St. Kilian family. This
get-together provides an opportunity in a venue we all love, our
church. Below are the dates for the rest of the year. So if
you’re free on any of the dates listed below, just stop in and join
us!
All meetings are held downstairs in the Church basement

In today’s Gospel Jesus says “Whoever wishes to come after me must deny
himself, take up his cross, and follow me.” The cross of
Jesus and the crosses of his members can evangelize us:
the sick, who bear illness with courage; the grieving, who
hope against hope; the dying, who clearly trust in the resurrection; the suffering of our poor brothers and
sisters who are hungry and homeless, but who still trust
in God’s love.
Is there a neighbor or friend of yours who is in temporary need because of a loss of a job or an
illness? Please have them leave a message for the
Society of St. Vincent de Paul…we want to help!
Together with your gifts, the members of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul continue his work and mission in our parish. If you are in need of assistance
or would like information on joining or contributing to the Society, please call 516-473-9562. Leave a message,
in English or Spanish, with your name and phone number. Someone will return your call as soon as
possible. You may also visit our website at www.svdprvc.org.
Please remember the Poor Boxes at the exits of the church, they are the Bread Boxes for the Poor
and Hungry.
