PARISH OF ST MARY OF THE ASSUMPTION

Fourteenth Sunday in ordinary time

ST. PAUL

‘The marks I carry

on my body are those

of Jesus Christ.’

Entrance Antiphon:

Within your temple, we ponder

your loving kindness, O God. As

your name, so also your praise

reaches to the ends of the

earth; your right hand is filled

with justice.

1st Reading:

Isaiah 66:10-14

Psalms 65:1-7,16,20

Responsorial Psalm:

Let all the earth cry out to God

with joy.

2nd Reading:

Galatians 6:14-18

Gospel Acclamation:

Alleluia, alleluia!

May the peace of Christ rule in

your hearts, and the fullness of

his message live within you.

Alleluia!

Gospel:

Luke 10:1-12,17-20

Before Communion:

Lord, let this offering to the

glory of your name purify us

and bring us closer to eternal

life.

Communion Antiphon:

Taste and see the goodness of

the Lord; blessed is he who

hopes in God.

After Communion:

Lord, may we never fail to

praise you for the fullness of

life and salvation you give us in

this eucharist.

In today’s gospel, Jesus sends his 72 disciples out to the towns

as if sending labourers to an abundant harvest. Jesus’ ministry

is now being extended through the disciples whom he sends

forth to do his work and thus announce that the “kingdom of

God is at hand.”

When the disciples return reporting their many successes, Jesus

reveals that the real abundance of the harvest is in having their

“names written in heaven.” Jesus redirects the focus of the

disciples from power over evil to the glory of dwelling in the

kingdom.

Our ministry then, is the same as the early disciples and that is

to announce that the kingdom of God is at hand.

The Australian Confraternity of Catholic Clergy (ACCC) is a private, voluntary

and fraternal association of Catholic bishops, priests and deacons of the

dioceses of Australia.

Our fraternity helps members build up each other in the grace of their vocation.

It hopefully increases the wider flourishment of authentic living and exercise of

vocations among bishops, priests and deacons, and attracts younger men to

consider a vocation to the Sacred Ministry. Membership is also open to lay and

religious faithful who support the clerical association in its objectives. The ACCC

has five objectives:

To give glory and honour to the Most Blessed Trinity.

To assist the eternal salvation and holiness of members.

To foster unity among Catholic priests and deacons with the bishops in loyalty to

the Supreme Magisterium.

To encourage faithfulness to priestly life and ministry.

To assist bishops, priests and deacons in the fulfilment of their ministry of

teaching, sanctifying and governing.

The Confraternity has active branches in New South Wales, Victoria, Western

Australia, South Australia and Queensland, and ACCC members also reside in

the ACT, Tasmania and New Zealand.

CONFRATERNITY OF CATHOLIC CLERGY ANNUAL CONFERENCE 8-12 JULY 2019

THEME: CATHOLICISM IN THE PUBLIC SQUARE

ST. MARY MACKILLOP CHURCH AND SCHOOL, KEILOR DOWNS

A large number of priests and bishops from around Australia will be participating

in this year’s conference. There will be a public lecture given by respected

author and journalist, Monica Doumit at 7.30 p.m. on Wednesday 10 July. Also,

Father Chandler’s new book will be launched on Tuesday, 9 July at 6.15. All

parishioners are welcome to attend these events.

Each day there will be a number of Church services. All services will take place

at S. Mary MacKillop Church. These will replace the regular morning Masses at

St. Mary MacKillop and St. Paul’s. All parishioners are very welcome to attend.

The schedule is as follows:

MONDAY 8 JULY

9.30 a.m. Mass

6.00 p.m. Solemn Evening Prayer

TUESDAY 9 JULY

WEDNESDAY 10 JULY

FRIDAY 12 JULY

HELPERS NEEDED FOR CONFERENCE

All meals for the priests are being catered, however we will need three or four

helpers each morning to serve morning tea which will run from 10.30 to 11.00

a.m. While most priests could do with a little starvation, it would be good if we

could provide something suitable for morning tea. There is a clipboard at the

fron of the church where you can leave your names if you are able to help. Many

thanks.

Second Sunday of easter Fourteenth Sunday

Entrance:

God has chosen me, God has chosen me

To bring good news to the poor.

God has chosen me, God has chosen me

To bring new sight to those searching for light.

God has chosen me, God has chosen me:

Refrain:

And to tell the world that God’s kingdom is

near,

To remove oppression and break down fear,

Yes, God’s time is near,

God’s time is near,

God’s time is near,

God’s time is near.

God has chosen me, God has chosen me

To set alight a new fire.

God has chosen me, God has chosen me

To bring to birth a new kingdom on earth.

God has chosen me, God has chosen me:

Refrain

Responsorial Psalm:

All the earth proclaim the Lord

Sing your praise to God.

Gospel Acclamation:

Praise to God for the Word, alleluia

That God’s voice will be heard, alleluia

Now proclaim in God’s holy name:

Alleluia, alleluia! (repeat)

Offertory:

To do your will, is my desire,

To live in you, Lord is my life.

To spread your love, through all the earth,

To find in you, the joy of life.

All of my days, I sing your praise,

Through all my nights, you are my life.

You will shine forth, through all my years,

And joyously will bring me home.

I search this world so restlessly,

Seeking a home from hate and strife.

I found in you, the strength to see,

The meaning of this troubled life.

And so my God, I give to you,

These raining words these restless rhymes,

And take my life as a tribute of,

Your endless love for humankind.

Communion:

Lord, you give the great commission:

“Heal the sick and preach the word”

Lest the church neglect its mission,

And the Gospel go unheard,

Help us witness to your purpose

With renewed integrity;

With the Spirit’s gifts empower us

For the work of ministry.

Lord, you call us to your service:

“In your name baptize and teach”

That the world may trust your promise,

Life abundant meant for each,

Give us all new fervour, draw us

Closer in community:

With the Spirit’s gifts enpower us

For the work of ministry.

Lord, you make the common holy:

“This my body, this my blood”

Let us all, for earth’s true glory,

Daily lift life heaven-ward,

Asking that the world around us

Share your children’s liberty;

With the Spirit’s gifts enpower us

For the work of ministry.

Lord, you show us love’s true measure:

“Father, what they do, forgive”

Yet we hoard as private treasure

All that you so freely give.

May your care and mercy lead us

To a just society,

With the Spirit’s gifts enpower us

For the work of ministry.

Recessional:

You are salt for the earth, O people;

Salt for the Kingdom of God!

Share the flavour of life, O people;

Life in the Kingdom of God!

Refrain:

Bring forth the Kingdom of mercy,

Bring forth the Kingdom of peace;

Bring forth the Kingdom of justice,

Bring forth the city of God!

You are a light on the hill, O people;

Light for the city of God!

Shine so holy and bright, O people;

Shine for the Kingdom of God! Refrain
