“Lord, Teach Me to Pray” is a prayer series, rooted in Ignatian spirituality and designed to help

women and men learn how to pray. Part I, Praying

Christian Virtues introduces Ignatian prayer and

spirituality in the way of St. Ignatius, by structuring the initial prayer experience around the Christian

Virtues.

The facilitators of the series are not teachers or spiritual directors; rather, they themselves are “pray-ers” who pray the assigned material throughout the week just as the other participants do. The facilitators’ main responsibility is to allow for the space within the group that the Holy Spirit needs to direct each person’s journey, allowing the Lord Jesus

Christ to do the “teaching”.

If you would like an introduction to Ignatian Prayer and and to learn more about becoming a facilitator you can attend a free Ignatian Retreat Day at the Basilica in Lewiston on Saturday, July 15. This training retreat will be conducted in a group setting led by Fr. Marty Gleeson O.P. and Carol & John Weiler. Our hope as a parish is to be able to offer the

Praying Christian Virtues small groups to our parishioners in the fall.

Participate in the New Evangelization!!! We inviting you to make Jesus Christ “known and loved” while deepening your own relationship with Jesus. Registration forms and more information can be found on our website. For more information contact Fr. Daniel or Elizabeth Rosquete.

Adoration Ministry

Holy Martyrs, Monday 8 am to 8 pm St. Gregory, Friday 8:30 am to 12:30 pm

There will not be Adoration on Monday July 3.

We ask you to join us because...

8. The best time you spend on earth is with Jesus, your Best Friend, in the Blessed Sacrament! "How great is the value of conversation with Christ in the

Blessed Sacrament, for there is nothing more consoling on earth, nothing more efficacious for advancing along the road of holiness!" (Pope Paul

VI, Mysterium Fidei)

From “Twelve Reasons ...for Wanting To Spend One Hour With Jesus In The Blessed Sacrament”

The Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul is June 29. This is an ancient feast in honor of their martyrdom in Rome. Together they founded the church in Rome through preaching, ministry and martyrdom. In a sermon in the year 395, St. Augustine of Hippo said of Saints. Peter and Paul: “Both apostles share the same feast day, for these two were one; and even though they suffered on different days, they

were as one. Peter went first, and Paul followed. And so we celebrate this day made holy for us by the apostles' blood. Let us embrace what they believed, their life, their labors, their sufferings, their preaching, and their confession of faith.” Saints Peter and Paul, pray for us.

Our parish THAT MAN IS YOU group will meet this summer on the following Saturdays from 6:45AM – 8:00AM at Sacred Heart Church. If you are a husband or father, we would love to have you join us for lessons and discussions about how we can all more fully live our mission as Christian men and leaders of our families. Meeting dates are June 24, July 1, July 8, July 15, July 22, and July 29.

St. Josemaria Escriva, Founder of Opus Dei Feast Day, Solemn Mass Celebration Holy Martyrs Church June 28, 2017 6:30 pm Light Refreshments will follow the Mass. All are Welcome!

Please Take the Time to Remember in Prayer Ellie Peters for an ongoing illness. Elizabeth Rosquete for upcoming surgery. If you want to request prayers for someone in need, please contact Fr. Daniel Greenleaf at [email protected] to get permission from the person who you are requesting prayers for.

has shown to our parishioners and our church facilities. Please plan to attend and bring a finger food to share. We have made a food sign up online here: http://www.perfectpotluck.com/meals.php?t=XKPH1913. Or give the office a call at 847-6890 to let us know what you would like to bring. Lets celebrate together as a parish to give Paul a great send off to his retirement! Cumberland/Falmouth Food Pantries: Your donations have been a major reason for both pantries maintaining a consistent presentation of food for those in need of using the pantries. The basics of cereals, soups, peanut butter, jelly, cooking oils, pasta, tuna and toilet tissue are those items needed every day. Thank you for your caring enough to make it possible to rely on our parish to fill these needs. God bless you, Jack Mullin. St. Vincent de Paul: We are thankful and busy every day as you continue leaving your generous donations in the narthex. The variety and quality of what we receive is what makes this program so popular and successful. We would like to acknowledge the assistance Betty and I receive from Mary Polewaczyk. She works to make this a smoothly operating ministry to help those in need in fulfilling corporal works of Mercy #3 - "clothe the naked." Without your help, there would be no program. Peace, Jack Mullin Please mark your calendars to join your fellow parishioners

for the 26th Annual St Jude Pancake Breakfast, Tuesday July 4. For more i n f o r m a t i o n , p l e a s e c o n t a c t [email protected]. To sign up to help out go here:

POTHE has made a donation of $250 to each of the five community programs in our area -- Freeport, Yarmouth, Falmouth, Gray, and Cumberland/North Yarmouth, as recommended by the Parish Social Justice and Peace Commission. Thank you for your donations to the "parish assistance” fund which made this possible.
