TWENTY-FOURTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME 12 SEPTEMBER 2021 12-9-21 – 24 th Sun in Ord Time. Hi everyone, This week is safeguarding week. I hope together we are working towards making our Parish a safe place for our youngsters as well as the disabled and elderly in our community. Remember we are trying to create teams rather than one person being lumped with all the responsibility. Hopefully this will start to happen more in our liturgy, hospitality, welcoming, inclusion, service and outreach and youth teams. There is so much we can still do together, to fulfill our Parish Mission - To co-create a welcoming community where all can encounter and be transformed by Christ realise their call to discipleship be empowered to serve attract new disciples”. I encourage you to pray and discern what area you would be best suited to help serve in our parish. Remember we are moving away from a parish that is Mass-centric and Priest-centric to a parish that is mission-centric and community-centric. We need to work as a team: priest and laity to bring about the mission to bring every person to Christ. Keep our Parish Pastoral Council and our five ministry teams in your prayers as we grapple with issues in ensuring we work towards following our Parish Strategic Plan. https:// www.motherofmercyparish.org.au/uploads/1/3/2/7/132788216/strategicplan2021.pdf Just a heads-up next Thursday is my big 50 th birthday. So after the Sun 9am OLHC Mass there will be a morning tea to celebrate. This week I also had an U10 years ordained gathering with 20 or so of my brother priests. It was a wonderfully relaxing day and half of deep sharing and convivium. This gathering has taken awhile to materialize but it was worth the wait. Thank you to all of the formators at Holy Spirit Seminary for this valuable experience! Wishing a blessed and peaceful week in God’s beautiful vineyard!!
