Third Sunday of Advent
December 12 & 13, 2015
Welcome We would like to extend a warm welcome to the following
new parishioners to St. Margaret of Scotland Parish.
David and Melissa Mannering: Hannah
Eileen Gallucio
Congratulations to the following children and their families
who were baptized this past Sunday at St. Margaret of Scot-
land Church.
Adeline Rose Scott
God Bless you as you begin your faith journey.
Baptisms
When we go beyond ordering our lives around doing the min-
imal things—fulfilling the requirements of our state in life
and job or ministry—then we can seek the greater things, the
greater One. Our being baptized in the Holy Spirit means that
we already share in divine Life. Relationships to others take
on a whole new meaning because they give us the opportunity
to live like Christ did: for others. In our daily living we, like
John, point to the One who is to come by doing well what is
expected of us. Even more importantly, we point to the One
who is to come by being who we have become in Christ:
Presence of Christ for others; we ourselves are to be the
“mighty one” for others. Because of God’s indwelling, doing
for others and being like Christ collapse into one: whatever it
is we do, we always do so as bearers of Christ because we are
“in Christ Jesus”. For this reason—we are the presence of the
risen Christ for each other—nothing we do is small or incon-
sequential. Everything we do brings the Lord near to those
around us.

Social Justice
The joys and hopes, the grief and anguish of the people of our
time, especially of those who are poor or afflicted, are the
joys and hopes, the grief and anguish of the followers of
Christ as well. Nothing that is genuinely human fails to find
an echo in their hearts.

Your generosity along with the help of the Boy Scouts who
packed and donated food, Christ the Teacher School – Day of

religious education classes that donated goods, allowed us to
provide Thanksgiving dinner for 37 families.

Marriage Moments In the spirit of Advent, practice “waiting on” your spouse to-

good person you are awaiting (instead of stewing if he or she is
late). Or "wait on" your spouse in the sense of doing a favor for him
or her.
Parenting Pointers Children benefit from our ‘presence’ more than our
‘presents’”. During this Advent ponder the tone that time with your
family will take during this time before Christmas.
