FOCUS: We are called to true conversion. Our turning
to God is manifested in how we treat those around us
and how we care for the planet that has been placed
under our stewardship. We acknowledge our failures
and seek forgiveness from a merciful God and from
those in this community of faith. In the first reading, we hear the lyrics of a prophet’s song. It contains a powerful message for God’s people. In the second, Paul
assures us that God is always ready to fulfill our desires
to live in a way worthy of the Gospel. In the Gospel, Jesus tells an allegorical story of a vineyard to point out the incompetent leadership of Israel and the desperate need for change. Published by Franciscan Media

We are grateful this week for all stewards in our parish who strive to remind us that God is with us always to watch over and protect us.
Please pray for all the faithful departed, and for all the souls in purgatory who have no one to pray for them. May God grant them eternal rest.

Special Collection for Disaster Relief
The United States Catholic Conference of Bishops is requesting a special collection within each diocese to assist those suffering from the recent unprecedented numbers of disasters. The Church in the Caribbean has suffered significant devastation, and the Church in Mexico has suffered substantial damage due to the earthquake. Many people from our Dio-cese have family connections in these areas. Let us continue to pray for all those suffering from these disasters. Bishop Barres has asked that each parish take up an additional collection to assist these devastated ar-eas. In accord with his wishes, our parish will take up a special collection on the weekend of October 7th/8th.
