Questions for Deeper Reflections:

Question for Children: Who helps you to grow deeper in

your faith?

Question for Youth: When the sower, in this week’s

Gospel, sowed his seed, not all of it fell in “good soil.”

What can you do in the coming week to make sure that

you are open to God in your life? What is getting in the

way of your being “good soil?”

Question for Adults: Using the parable of Jesus in this

reading, describe how faith has been planted in your life?

How long did it take for that seed to land “on good soil?” - Lifelong Catechesis

Almighty and eternal God, those who take refuge in you will be glad

and forever will shout for joy. Protect these soldiers as they discharge their duties.

Protect them with the shield of your strength and keep them safe from all evil and harm.

May the power of your love enable them to return home in safety, that with all who love them,

they may ever praise you for your loving care. We ask this through Christ our Lord.

DESPERATION The kingdom of God

is not for the well-meaning but for the desperate.

--James Denney

Online Mass viewing continues with the newest weekend Mass becoming available for Saturdays after 5 pm

The Parish of Saint Mary - You Tube Channel (https://bit.ly/2SkpRET)

Beginning Monday, 6 July 2020 the (M-F) 9 am daily Mass will be celebrated in the chapel set up in the parish hall.

Beginning Saturday, 11 July 2020 the Sacrament of Penance & Reconciliation will be available at 4 pm - MASKS are required;

the anticipated Mass for Sunday will resume at 5 pm Saturday night.

EXPECTATIONS AS WE PREPARE TO GATHER FOR MASS

Parishioners can choose which Mass they will attend. Enter through the center main doors. There will be personnel there to insure that each person is wearing their mask and to advise that social distancing is to be observed when entering/exiting, selecting a seat, processing/recessing to receive Holy Communion. It will require all to come earlier than usual to be processed and to search for seating that observes social distancing. Because of this entrance will be restricted once the Mass has begun.

Masks and Social/Physical distancing are required.

There can be no physical collection of Stewardship Offerings; Two designated boxes will be placed in the Narthex/Gathering Space for the placement of envelopes or offerings. Thank you for your generosity.

Missals, Missalettes, Bulletins, and other papers have been removed.

Holy Water has been drained from all locations.

Parish Clergy will distribute Holy Communion; we ask all coming forth to observe distancing front to back and side to side.

We have been advised that socializing before or after the Mass inside or outside is to be discouraged; clergy are not permitted to greet parishioners before or after the Mass.

For all parishioners: Congregating before and after Mass is prohibited, as per the bishop. There will be no children’s liturgy of the word dismissal. Volunteers are greatly needed to wipe down the wood of the pews after all Masses (weekend and

weekday). We will have a cleaning crew take care of the floors, bathrooms etc, but need this little bit of additional help. Please contact Andrew if you are able.

At weekday Masses, no one is to arrive prior to 8:30 AM. All Masses will be in the Chapel in the Parish Hall.

Exposition remains suspended for now. Private adoration of the Blessed Sacrament reserved in the tabernacle is welcomed and encouraged at any time.

Formed for Summer students

The teachers in our summer religious education program may make use of videos from Formed.org with their students. Our parish subscribes to Formed and it has a variety of resources for people of all ages. We are asking all the families registered in the summer program to set up an account with Formed so that it is accessible to your child if directed to view a video by their teacher.

Create an account for yourself and explore. www.stmaryscoltsneck.formed.org

"I've always been amazed at the risk God takes by hiding. You know, He's hidden in the Blessed Sacrament; He's hidden in my heart; He's hidden in your heart; He's hidden in the present moment; He's hidden in the tragedies of the Church and in the world, but

He's there." - Mother Angelica

We welcome Julia Cullen to the Religious

Education Department. Julia has been an active

parishioner of the Parish of Saint Mary for many

years. Most recently as a catechist on

Tuesdays, while obtaining her Parish
